How much would you pay for a concert ticket?

The Eagles are playing in town tonight, and I did have an opportunity to go, but the price was 185.00 per ticket. That's not the most expensive ticket either. I can't justify paying that much for one ticket. So, let's see, 370.00 just for tickets, another 25 for parking, about a hundred for dinner, so, we're looking at almost 500 bucks for a night out. I really like the Eagles, but, there's no way. Is there anybody you'd pay a lot of money to see?

Holy moly, I'm really out of touch here...I had no idea concert tickets were that much now as I haven't been to any concerts in ages. Years and years ago (don't ask how many years..LOL) I got tickets from a scalper for a Rolling Stones concert...the ticket was only $75.00 and the location was pretty good...the was a concert at Madison Square Garden. but nope...no matter how much I loved to see a particular group or singer, no way would I pay that much...heck it's hard for me to afford a Movie ticket nowadays..LOL

A year ago, or just over, The Eagles came to The New Theatre in my home of Oxford. If I remember correctly, the tickets started at £9.00 and went up to around £15.00 for the best seats. Alternatively, my favourite band, Genesis, cost £65.00 to see them in my football team's home - Old Trafford (Manchester United). As you say, by the time you've had dinner and sundry other expenses, it really adds up doesn't it. However, to answer your question, Yes, I would pay all I have to see Queen again - with Freddie!

If Freddie had a concert now, I would surely go and see it.

Wow that is expensive my friend. To be honest for me it wouldn't matter who was playing, whether it's my favourite group or singer, I can't do concerts, I don't like crowds, yes it's a fear of mine but it's also something that doesn't interest me. I have been to see Abba, Bucks Fizz (Ouch showing my age!) and Cold Play but they were rare occasions and I didn't pay for the tickets. But as for $185 and it doesn't stop there does it! NO WAY! I can think of far better things to spend my money on. Just for one night out? I think you are wise even if you do have the money to put it to better uses. Here's a suggestion for you so that you are not missing out. Run yourself a nice hot bath, have a glass of your favourite drink, and put on a cd of The Eagles, put it on as loud as you can bear it and close your eyes picture you are there and just lie back and relax. Now isn't that just as good it will be tens times as good because of the money you have just saved yourself!

That is way too much for me to pay. Even though it is within reason to be that costly. You have to realize that acts such as The Eagles have about a dozen semi trucks for all their sound equiptment etc to haul from venue to venue. That is a lot of diesel fuel at over $4 a gallon. I go to the local casinos to see concerts. Most tickets are under $75 for the shows. less seats make for a more comfortable and intimate show as well. The acts usually have a house band from the area that plays the music so they save on the tour exspenses this way. I have seen Sawyer Brown, Etta James, and a few other good acts for free or really cheap this year at casinos. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

Well, if you think that's bad, the Buffalo Bills are playing an EXHIBITION GAME here, and the tickets are 90.00-575.00 for a single ticket!! I would love to see an NFL game here, but, I would rather drive all the way to Buffalo.

I'm old and I'm cheap. I would love to see Prince in concert but the one time my husband and I were in Vegas and he was playing, the tickets were into the several hundreds. I said, and would still say today, that I can't think of a single person, outside of perhaps Jesus Christ, I would pay more than $75 or so to see. And I'm so cheap, I would think twice about Jesus!

IF I had plenty of money, I'd pay whatever it took to see some of my favorite shows but since I don't have plenty of money, it's a no-go for me. I don't get to attend concerts because I just can't pay the kind of money it takes to see something that is not a necessity to life like rent, utilities, food etc. It makes me sad sometimes too because it seems like it would be fun to see a concert now and again

When the Eagles last toured Australia I wanted to go but the tickets were ridiculously priced so i passed. Of course if they were my favourite band I would have paid the money but I don't like them that much! I am a big fan and I have paid big money for concerts in the past but I think you have to be dedicated to pay so much. You're right, once you've bought two tickets, paid for parking, drinks, food and a t-shirt each you can easily spend $500 on a night out. It's not like they need the money, it would be nice to see classic bands like that not being greedy and offer cheaper tickets. So my answer is, if I'm a hardcore fan of the band money is no obstacle but if I only kinda like them, no way.

First of all, I can't afford to go to a concert right now but there is no way that I would pay that kind of money for a concert or to see anyone. I don't mind to pay for concerts when I can but I believe $30 is about all I would pay. I would like to see Trace Adkins this year but doubt that it will happen as I am hoping to open my own business soon.

No, I wouldn't pay for the concert. I will feel it's really waste money to pay for concerts. Even I like certain singers a lot, but still I will not pay for their concert, I feel like waste my over hundred money. It's not easy for me to earn the money, so I do not waste money easily. There may be one day I will spend for concert only if I really rich untill don't know where to spend my money.

Wow that is a bit much . I wanted to see the rolling stones and u2 in concert , but they were way too much money . I looked on stub hub and for u2 there was nothing under 150 and for the stones the cheapest were 200 all the way to about 1, 200 , and that is crazy ! I was pretty bummed ! you know I have paid fairly hight for baseball tixs . New York Mets dream seats I paid 120 a piece last september , but those are the best , and it was my first time at shea , so worth it The most I paid for a concert tix was around 90 a piece for Prince , and worth each , and every penny .

I wouldn't pay $185 to see anyone. As a musician I wouldn't charge anyone $185 either. Looks like they are targeting rich people and not their fans. It is unfortunate. However we work for money. Their record sales have probably declined since they are not as active so they are losing a residual income. But they can't make it up by raising ticket price. Maybe they are getting soaked for rent where ever they are performing. I understand there are expenses but seriously. Gas is only $4.10 a gallon. It seems like an unjustifiable price. Especially since the working people who made them what they are have to do without in order to see them. I've paid over $200 for tickets but it was 7 days and a lot of performers. 3 stages and the smaller ones were 24 hours. There would have to be more than just the performer to get me to come off of my cash. They are already rich and don't need it as much. This is something I might do if tickets were that expensive. I would go to the show and buy tickets off of a scalper for a better price. I've seen people give scalpers tickets for free.

Well, the most I have ever spent for a concert ticket was probably 40 something after all the fees associated with ordering it. I'm not even sure if it was that much, just a rough guess. I usually have paid between 10-30$ though, but then again, I've never been to see a band like the Eagles or any other legends! But, I have seen some bands that are big in popular music these days and usually the tickets are reasonably priced depending on the venue. Although I have seen some way overpriced concerts that I would have liked to go to, but they were too much. Maybe if I had a lot of money I would pay for VIP or backstage passes, but I couldn't see paying more than $50 for a single general admission ticket, and that is even pushing it!

They must be jacking up their prices. They were 90 dollars a ticket here in Virginia. I thought that was too much. I would not pay more than 50. I think Sheryl Crowe is playing here in Oct. if it is more than 50 or 60 per ticket, I'm not going to that either. I cant be that frivolous with my cash. Lawn Tickets are so much cheaper.

Depends on the artist/s. I paid $7.50 to see AC/DC in 1980, damn good show but due to inflation, I paid $100 a ticket to see Aerosmith/kiss two years ago and again $100 for Aerosmith/ Motley Crue last night. I wouldn't do it again but you have two big name acts that have quite a few people working for them that they have to pay. I paid $80 to see Queen/Paul Rodgers this year. I think the $40 I paid for Trans-Siberian Orchestra was a much better deal. They had over fourteen musicians on stage and the show was beyond fantastic with the lasers and everything else. It also was over 2 and a half hours long. Definitely the best show I've seen yet! Anybody who pays over $100 to see any individual performer (one group) of their choice (their favorite) is just fueling their (the artist's) egos of how much they can charge. As long as people pay for the tickets, the prices will continue to go higher because they are willing to pay. Stop paying the prices and the artists will have to cut their profits! Take a look at some of the highest grossing performances and then check out how much they charged for tickets and tell me it isn't highway robbery. And tell me how much we are the fools for paying to see them!
