How do you go about making sure you enjoy your life?

For me, I took a page from The Secret and I have a gratitude rock. Really, I view it as a way to remind myself to be grateful, not that I need to be reminded of what I am grateful for. Sometimes life hands us lemons. We need to be reminded that the lemon is so much more than a sour fruit. It can be made into the sweetest rewards.
Every morning I start off seeing my beautiful daughters face. She is always smiling and happy. Mamamamama. Is the sound of my alarm clock. I have never heard such a wonderful sound. I almost lost her the beginning of this year, so every day I get to wake up and know she is okay is the best gift I can get. And I am grateful.
From there, my son is usually awake at the same time and he too is a joy. Even as he is a pain in my rear, he is my joy. I enjoy that I can be around to know this about him. When he was born I almost died. So, I know this is the greatest thing.
I enjoy that I can feed the kids and get online to do my work. That is a good feeling. I be able to come here and make money. So far I am bordering on $100 for next month. Not bad. The hubby will be thrilled.
I make time for myself. I love to read and watch movies. So I do a lot of that. I enjoy swimming, so we go in the pool when we can. We have a park right out the back door to our house, so I take the kids over there and enjoy the breeze, the sun and the peace of knowing the kids are doing their thing while I enjoy a break.
These are just a few things that I enjoy about my daily life.

I had a couple people tell me about that book. So I took it upon myself to look through it. The Bible is a much better written book and gives real hope. I am reminded of making my life enjoyable by reading Proverbs chapter 31. Tells what a capable wife is and does. God tells me what my obligation is (Ecclesiastes 12:13). The rest of the Bible gives me hope of a time when I can build my own house the way I want it and not stress about food (Isaiah 65:21). This same chapter tells me that God's "people," his "chosen ones," will live long lives like trees. The Internet (longest living tree) tells of trees being 4767 yo, 9550 yo, 8000 yo, 4950 yo. So I study the Bible to find out what I can do to be one of Jehovah (YHWH) God's people. So I do my best to avoid what he hates. I work on not repeating the sins I did commit (Hebrews 10:26, 27). I also try to listen to what God is telling me (Proverbs 28:9). It's the only way I know to enjoy life. Everything else only leads to heartache. No one else can give me hope other than Jehovah God.
I do so enjoy my family too and hope and pray that they follow the same path. Simple living just feels better. I only have one person to please - Jehovah God. Pleasing Him covers everyone else.

Yes, letting God control our lives can bring the greatest joys. I do recommend though, watching the movie of The Secret. It is much easier to understand, despite the obviously surface materialism it promotes. At first glance, it seems like that, but that is how they pull you in. The average person doesn't care about anything but more money and more things. So that is the example they pull you in by. Then they hit you with the being grateful, visualizing and asking (they say universe, I say God) for the things they want and apparently if you are feeling loving and grateful for what you have, then things will get even better and improve more.
I like the concept and have seen it work in my own life, so that is encouraging.

Doing the simple things are the one that bring us
most joy. I just wonder why others are not satisfied
with their life. We should give more value to the simple
and ordinary task we do everyday because it's what makes
our daily life worth living. I enjoy my life doing the same
things you do everyday.

I know. I see people complain about so many things. Sure, I do my share, but I am not miserable. Most of mine is me being a red head. lol. Got to let of steam so I can enjoy the rest.

The best way to enjoy life is by smiling. That may sound corny, but it's true. Ever notice when you are in a bad mood and you hear something funny and you smile then for an instant you feel like all is well in your life? Smiling actually does help. And it's best to find something that you enjoy doing to keep your mind occupied from negative thoughts. However, I'm not one to talk because I'm such a pessimist, lol.

Even so, that is nothing but the truth. It is always great to watch or read something funny. For that amount of time, it makes you feel happy and content. Even if things are going badly, just being around something funny can make you forget for awhile. That is pretty powerful. And when that happens, I find most of the time, your thoughts shift and you realize that things are so bad after all.

I honestly make a concentrated effort to enjoy my life. I think that life is too precious and too fragile to take for granted. Most of the time I try to live each day as if it is my last. Not that I am wreckless. To the contrary. To me that means enjoying the many blessing that I have. Everything from my children, my health, the park near my house, my ability to run and jump. Just all my blessings. I also recently read The Secret and I am planning to start a gratitude book. I thought it was a great idea.

A gratitude book sounds divine. I don't have the discipline for that. My spare time is trying to find money on this box called internet. lol.

That is what I figure too. lol. And it has worked so far. I keep thinking checks in the mail, expecting checks and by golly, I am getting checks. I even get more checks than bills! Its just too bad those checks don't have enough on them to pay the few bills, but its funny. I get more checks than bills.

Hi tannie: It is a joy to have kids. I am only 21 years old, but you know, I pray that someday I have kids. I wake up in the morning now, and what I see is a beautiful day, BUT I know its going to be long because I am in school...And school is rough. I get through it, but I have to deal with the fact that Calculus 3 isn't the easiest class. But, as for life, it is great at the moment. I have friends, my family, and Jesus....They help to make sure that I enjoy life.

Calculus is like any subject. It is only as hard as you think it is. If you go into it thinking it is hard, it will be hard. If you go into it knowing you are "intelligent and capable of handling anything you encounter, even calculus", then you will be ok and it will suddenly seem easier.
Try it. I made Honor Roll in business college level medical classes by having a better attitude.

I don't have a 'gratitude rock' but I do focus on the things I have, and feel grateful for, rather than think of what I don't have in my life. It works for me.
I constantly feel gratitude for small things and I do get pleasure from the simple things in life. I'm not always wanting possessions or experiences which some people seem to base their lives around.
I'm not blessed with children of my own but I do feel joy sometimes when I see other people's children enjoying themselves.
I'm even grateful for all the bad times and the difficulties I face in life. I feel glad that my life is never easy. I have achieved more and become stronger because of the dark difficult moments.

This is a very good way to be. I can't deny that I would love to have other experiences. One of my greatest wishes is to be able to get out and see the world. I want to see everything before some crapper decides to blow it all up.

Well like I have stated before from time to time, I like to count my blessings everyday. I enjoy my four year old son. He brings me happiness. I like to work on the computer. I really enjoy My Lot. It is a great way to make friends and earn a little extra money. I also like to cook, especially if it is not too hot outside. I like to watch a good movie when I get the chance. If it is a nice day, I like to enjoy the scenery.

I love to cook inside or out. I am the grillmaster around here.
