How many times have you been a bridesmaid?

My fiance and I recently watched a movie called 27 dresses. The movie, and my fiance (Who didn't watch it by choice, majority rules Ladies read this as : Girl power) got me to thinking about a few questions that I would like to pose to the ladies. Ladies, Have you ever been a bridesmaid? How many times? Would you be a maid of honor for your sister, who was marrying the love of your life? or Would you tell your sister that you are madly in love with him? What if your sister was "faking" her personality, and it could cause hurt for not only the man that she is marrying but also herself? What would you do if they expected you to do everything for them in regards to planning the wedding? My fiance and I are happily engaged and we are not in this situation but as the bride I would definitely feel as if I should not lie to my groom. As the sister, I would tell my sister that I am madly in love with her groom, but I would also tell the man that my sister was being a bit of a fake, and let him know how she really acted. If they wanted me to plan everything of their wedding I would definitely say no as I know that it would cause me emotional pain as I would be madly in love with the groom and be close to the wedding enough as it is. I appreciate everyone's responses to me but I ask that you please be serious in your responses. I hope that you all have a wonderfully lovely day.

First off, I love that movie as well, when I saw the title of your post, I never had a chance of doubt that this was about that movie LOL... and that rock for girls who love weddings !!! To answer the question, have you ever been a bridesmaid? Nope, occasionally, I helped some friends who are about to be married in terms of planning things out, a sort of a wedding planner that is, but I just do that to very close friends and family members only. Would you be a maid of honor for your sister, who was marrying the love of your life? No, it would be very hard on my part, maybe I should leave or take some vacation until the wedding is over. Would you tell your sister that you are madly inlove with him? I would be honest. What would you do if they expected you to do everything for them in regards to planning the wedding? Like yourself, I would widraw any association with them at the moment and take sometime going somewhere.

This was my first time seeing the movie, my mother in law picked it out, and asked if I would like watch it, I said yes and then my fiance got roped into it. I agree that it would be very hard to be a maid of honor for the sister, and like I said I wouldn't do it. Emotional pain from the fact that I was infatuated with the man, would definitely hold me back from even wanting to have a part of the wedding! I appreciate your response to me! I hope you have a wonderfully lovely day.
