When is your first day of school?

We start on August 20th. Where in the world did the summer go?

We, as teachers, start on that day with in-services. The kids start on the 20th:(

I live in southeast Georgia and this county starts back on August 4th. I don't understand it. I remember when school use to start the first week in September after Labor Day, and you got out the first week in June. Also I've noticed over the years that the kids have more and more full and half days off.

True. When I was in school we started late August or early September. We start so early now and do not get out until June. That is when we got out when I was a kid. We have too many days off during the school year. I would rather have a longer summer.
