Hi,
I prefer laptop. Laptop is easier to carry and I can move it around at home. Desktop is quite large in size and I think that desktop is great for gaming.
I seldom play games. So, I do not need a desktop. I only need a simple and average spec laptop. I use my laptop to go online, mylotting, blogging, chatting and do my homeworks.

now there are two computers in my room, one is a desktop, it's haveing a rest, and coated with thin dust, the other is a laptop, it's working hard and hot, lol. i also use the laptop to surf the net, mylot, blog and ...and i use the laptop when i'm presenting the PPTs while i'm giving a lecture.

I prefer to use a laptop because it is more portable compared to a desktop and I tend to go to many places. The only down side is that it is hard to find public wireless hot spots in my area. It is true that the desktop is faster but I think my laptop has enough computing power already and I seldom run applications that require a lot of processing and high speed.
My most favourite device would be a pda phone because it is very light and portable. I had a Nokia phone which I usually use to go online and also to participate in mylot's discussions. I am going to try and earn enough so that I can get a pda phone for myself soon.

Hi, Jerrymouse, from the responses i've got, you seem to be the only one that favors the laptop, just as you said it's portable. yeah, it's hard to find some wireless areas in some countries, and contrusides. where i'm working, i mean the office has strong wireless signals lol

My office has wireless networks too but my employer prohibits us from using it. We aren't even allowed to surf the web using the office computer. Ocassionally I connect to a nearby restaurant's hotspot to browse the internet on lunch time. Usually I use my mobile phone which is what I am doing now.

I won't be using a laptop until I'm forced to do so, i.e. when I'll be requiring one for office work. I personally don't feel quite comfortable with the touchpad. I may buy a PDA later. Those seem cooler to me.

hi friend,i prefer desktop a lot.Because it is more stable and quicker in function. And i always work at office. So i think desktop is better for me to use.and when i write the response on mylot or something, it is more hekpful due to its quicker speed.I think many people would like use the desktop if he/she is work in office.

i have a desktop. i've always wanted a laptop though. i would love to be able to be on the internet anywhere. although where i live i don't know if i could get wireless internet. there isn't even good cell phone service here. I would love to be able to take my kids to the park and while they are playing i could be mylotting and earning money lol.

I have a desk top in my bedroom and that is what i am using right now.
I like desk tops better i think simply because i'm more used to them and they are usually able to handle more at once then a laptop can but my dad has a lap top that i can use whenever i want and sometimes i do.
I like using it because its more flexible in that i can move around with it so if i wanna be upstairs or downstairs or even outside i can be and that is my favorite part about having a lap top.
It also comes in handy when we lose power because the laptop has a built in battery and can last some hours without being plugged in to the wall

I usually use a desktop, which I prefer for the ability to use a mouse and speed of the actual computer. We also have a laptop, but my husband usually has control over that, so I just stick to the desktop, plus I stink at using the touch pad on the laptop!!!
