It's been a while since I read any of her books but I do like 'Pride & Prejudice' the best. I don't know why possibly because I saw a film of it first and it was the first of her books I read.
The style of writing and the expressions used do take a bit of getting used to but it is well worth the effort as the novels are funny and the characters well thought out and protrayed.

I've read all her novels several times over and either Pride & Prejudice or Persuasion is my favorite. My least two favorites were Mansfield Park and Northanger Abbey. I think what makes P&P so great is because it's so incredibly witty and the characters are so detailed and full of life. Northanger Abbey definitely seems a little stale in comparison.

Have read and enjoyed every single one of Austen's books, would probably have to agree that P&P is my favourite, but Mansfield Park has to come close! Don't really know why, as I happen to think that Fanny Price is a bit of a drip.
Have seen some of the other comments, people only reading some of Jane Austen, cannot reccomend them enough. There have been so many adaptations, yes you know how it's going to end... but it's how Austen gets there. My favourite bits are the language, the super proper english etc. and the manners, just the bowing and.. I don't really know how to explain it. I do know however that since reading these, I now read any period books I can get my hands on and have developed an odd fascination (in a 16 year old girl at least) for period adaptations on screen!

I have read all of her novels (even the uncompleted ones) and enjoyed them all, but I think my favourites are Persuasion and Pride & Prejudice, both of which I studied at school. I love her style of writing especially her wonderfully strong female characters.

I have read Pride and Prejudice and Emma of hers. And till now Pride and Prejudice is one of my favorites. The characters are created very well and I admire the language in this novel very much. You will always find it so cute and wisdom is showed every now and then.Ah,I really can not express my feelings enough. So amazing that everytime I get down to reading,I can not put it now.It is really a great book, and I'm sure everyone who has read it will agree with me about that.
About Emma,I just read it once and I don't think much of it compared with Pride and Prejudice.Maybe the short cut version is not so good as the original, anyway,I will try to read it again, and what do you think of this book?
Besides,it's a shame that I have not read her other famous books like Sense and Sensibility and Persuation,I am sure they are very great as well.I really can't wait to try them at once.
