I started drinking diet soda a few years back when I was trying to get healthier but didn't want to cut it out of my diet for good. Now I can hardly stand the taste of regular soda because it's too sweet! I've read the articles that aspartame and diet sodas are bad for you, but I've never had any side effects. I also don't like to drink my calories so I look for beverages that are low or zero calories. How about you? Do you drink diet soda? Why or why not? My husband, personally, can't stand the taste of diet.

I am a former Mountain Dew addict. I used to drink, oh, like 6 of those 24 ounce bottles a day!
Several months ago I decided to try living sugar free. I eat very little sugar. It took me a LONG time to get used to the taste of diet pop, but now if I try the regular kind I think it's terrible tasting, lol.
Since going sugar free I've lost a lot of weight (I've gone down 6 pants sizes!), so that was my main motivation...also all that sugar is horrible for your mood :)

I know a lot of people who, when simply cutting out full calorie pop, lose weight quickly (at least a few pounds). I'm glad to hear you've done so well since changing your diet! That's great :)

For me I feel it's healthier in that I'm not consuming calories or processed sugars. My husband can't stand the taste of it either :)

I also read in many internet articles that diet soda is bad for your health. It has some chemicals that are harmful- and I'm not even sure if it really has no sugar. I don't like the taste of it though..
