How can I get more people to visit my site and click on my google ads?

I own 2 blogs, both with Adsense and out of 295 total visits I only got 8 clicks. How can I increase the number of people who click my ads? What's the best way to increase traffic? I've been using Free Traffic Bar which does not do much in the way of traffic let alone people clicking on my ads. Can anyone here who owns a successful blog or website give me a few pointers? Thanks.
