How does myLot gain from us?

Here in myLot we all know that we get revenues by starting discussions and by posting responses. Some say that we are paid better by the quality of the contents our articles; that could be true. Now, where does myLot get those amounts they are giving us? I know that they are earning for the ads here on the site. What else can you think of?
