Hi,
I am trying to create a remote control but I am not sure what components and design to make it possible.
Anyone here have the experience to create a remote control?
I hope to learn more about it. Thanks.

hi....the above replie is good but missing many things.....
u r making a remote.....first u have to make a specification according to the use....like......
-range of remote if its less u can use Infra red concept if it is more than u have to use antena based concept.
-cost
u can use processor like 8085 or microcontroller 8051....u can find no of remot control project using mentioned component......u can look in to "electronics for you" which is a magzine for electronics project......u better use 8051 it is cheap and readly available.......

You can make either IR remote or RF remote. IR remote is more simple than RF remote. If you know about microcontroller/microprocessor, you can easily design by using 8085,8051,8951,pic,ect. If you dont know about programming, then use a DTMF decoder and ecoder IC which are used in telephones. The output of encoder ic is a DTMF signal. You just need to send it throgh IR led. In the recieving side, the signal is recieved by IR reciever and the recieved signal is given to decoder. The output of these IC will be the actual data sent.Use a multiplexer to switch on/off up to 10 device( or depending on your choice)
