Where do a majority of your referrals come from?

Since starting doing gpt sites, I have gotten 5 referrals from my blog and none of them have stuck around after signing up. I have pitched my sites to family and friends but they just don't think this is all legit or they are not really into using the computer or just really don't know how to use the internet.
Do places like getref really work?
I signed up yesterday but don't really want to waste my time if it does not work out?
Any other ideas?

Since you already have a blog, may be worth looking into driving more traffic to it.
Also there's some forums that will let you add a link to your blog in your signature so look at posting in those, in related topics of course
If your 'family and friends do not know how to use the internet and are not really into using the computer', forget pitching to them as they will not stick at it and what you are looking for is active referrals..
