I always wonder what those people who work in the fastfood eateries have for their meals.
I am sure they will get bored with the fastfood which are provided free for them. How long before did they soon got fed up with the food I don't think I would ever get bored with pizza though.
And what happens to the remainders that are not sold out? It will certainly be a waste if it's all thrown away.
Have you ever work in places like that and how do you keep up with healthy meals if free fastfood are being provided?
Thank you for sharing.

I have only worked at one fast food restaurant and that was Arby's and that was over a year ago,but we did not get food free,we only got fifty percent off of food when we were working, which was still pretty good, since the food their is a little pricey,I never really ate Arby's until I started working there, and it is still not my favorite place to eat,and I think people workers might have gotten to take left overs home for free,to keep from having to throw them out,and my brother who used to work there as well, and one time he was a manager, and he was the one who helped me get the job in the first place, and I remember a couple of times,he would tell me about bringing home bags of sandwich's that would have been thrown out otherwise.

Hie, It would be nice if only staffs are allowed to prepare their own food and have it thereAnd at certain after hours, at discounted rate, the food would have sold off much faster.
Cheers and thank you for sharing.

I will be sick and tired of them if i have to eat them everyday.. lol =D I once worked in a cafe for 5 yrs and been eating so much of the food there till i really feel like vomitting whenever i eat it, but what to do, it's free.. haha.. And so i had no choice but to eat it till the extend i have to dig into my own pocket and buy outside to eat.. lol
But everyhting changed after 2 yrs, when the cafe became halal, and no outside was allowed, and i was lazy to go out to eat, and so i'm condemn to eating the cafe's food again.. haha.. But luckily for me, by the 5th yr, the cafe finally closed down due to poor management and poor marketing.. And i was spared the agonising food.. lol

I don't think that the people working in fast food restaurant will like the fast food very much.
My brother has worked in fast food restaurant as a part timer long time ago. He can have the fast food everyday as his meal, but he ate everyday and he really can't stand for it, then he just home for the meal.
The fast food caused his body become hot, affected his health that time. From my brother's experience, I can understand the staff in the fast food restaurant will be scared of the fast food.
The main reason is will affect our health.

When I used to eat at one of the fast food chains back home, I would see some of the crew eating the same meal I had. I used to ask the same question myself. I think they must be really bored with it too but they have no choice as it's free for them. I guess if they're working part-time they can catch up with healthy foods while they're at home. Perhaps they have a mother or father who can cook healthy meals for them.

When we were in my high school, my now-husband worked at McDonald's and he got a free meal every day that he worked a minimum number of hours (4 I think?). I don't know how he ate at McDonald's so much for 3 years and can still stand to eat there even now! When food had been sitting out for so long, it had to be thrown away because of health food regulations. I always thought it was a waste to have this big garbage can of waste, which they had to account for somehow.
My sister works at taco bell and hates mexican food, so she usually just makes a cheese and chicken quesadilla or leaves work on her lunch break. :)

When I first started working at McDonalds years ago, the free meals were one of my favorite perks! After a couple of months, though, I had worked my way around the menu and was seriously tired of eating there. I finally got to where I couldn't stand it. My parents would sometimes ask me to bring it home for dinner (remember when Big Macs were 5 for $5 or hamburgers were 10 for $10 specials?) and it would irritate me because not only did I have to work there, but had to eat there, too, because my family viewed eating there as a treat, since it gets expensive feeding 5 people fast food, even if you get value meals. This was before the $1 menu, even though that racks up fast, too. After a couple of years of not working there, I starting eating there again, but when I worked there it only took a few months before just the though of eating something there would gag me and I'd skip my break rather than eat the food. lol

Hie, I could understand that, having the same type of food everyday can be very frustrating but for an outsider could be such a treat

I used to work in the fast food industry a few years ago. I worked in the kitchen (and loved it) but we did not get free food. We got our food at a discounted rate but that was it. Food that surpassed the timers was always thrown out. Usually a hamburger was only good under the warmers for ten minutes. Different foods had different times. Leftover food was also thrown out. This was done due to the health laws. It was a terrible waste and I hated it but there was nothing anybody could do.

Hie Wyldrose, I couldn't imagine how much food would be wasted and so easily discarded too. The homeless and poor would definitely find this a treat no doubt.

Umm.. I haven't tried working on one but I have a lot of friends who tried it. They get free meals. Usually on major meals of the day and sometimes at snack time too. If I were to work on one, I'd love to work on a pizza-serving restaurant, and eat all the pizza there. LoL. Kidding. I am also a pizza lover. And I actually eat twice or thrice my normal capacity when we're talking about pizza. Hehe. The only downside of being fed in those fastfood restaurants is that the food is basically the same all the time, not to mention that some are not so healthy. One should also learn to balance what he/she eats, I think it's advisable to bring your own food if necessary.

No, I never worked in a fast food place or any other type
of food place but I'll bet I would've had fun. But, only
until I got sick of looking at whatever kind of food if
was. I'm sure after awhile you get sick of it even if it's
free. Actually, my boyfriend works in a college cafeteria
and sadly they do throw the food out every night. They
will not let the workers take any of it home. When he
first started the job he couldn't believe it. He wanted
to bring some home for us and they told him he wasn't
allowed. It was one of the rules. I don't know what kind
of stupid person made that rule. He said they dump
perfectly good food in the trash, even wrapped food.
Wasteful and disgusting if you ask me.

Hie Opal, that was a pity they have thrown away food that was still good, I guessed they didn't have better sense. I am sure if they could have it at a discounted rate after certain hours, the amount of wastage of food wouldn't be that much.
Cheers and thank you for sharing.

I don't think they will get bored with the food as it is really not that much. Besides it saves them money by not buying food elsewhere during their shift.
I used to work in a fastfood way back in the 80's, although we didn't have free food then only discounted purchase privilege which is limited to one piece chicken per duty. But I do love the bottomless gravy (lol)

Hie Roysville, I do agree with you, saved a lot on the money and thinking on the meals to have later. Too much of anything certainly is bad but it's great to be able to get it at discounted price while others lack of the privilege
Cheers and thank you for sharing.
