is there any show that you absolutely will not let your children watch? if so why I won't let them watch Barney and friends I just don't like it. I also won't let him watch that new show yo gabba gabba, i believe it's really weird and it brain washes your kids into remembering stuff, they repeat stuff over and over and it's not very educational. now with all of that being said would you ever write to the TV. network to tell them to stop airing the show or to try to get them to stop.

Yes but children learn through repetition dont they! They learn to count through hearing numbers repeated same concept really and nothing wrong with it in my opinion. Unless its really violent i dont ban them from watching anything as I feel they can have the chance to choose what they watch or not, my children are very bright and arent brain washed into learning, its all about balance for the 20 minutes they watch yo gabba gabba they then spend another 8=12 hours talking properly with me or friends etc moderation is the key

Yo Gabba Gabba has got to be the worst attempt at a tv show I've ever seen, let alone a children's show! I don't have children, but I have many nieces and nephews. I would definitely write a bad review. That show is horrible, and "yo gabba gabba" how is that even English? All I ever see is a bunch of dancing fools on that show. TV shows now are very uneducational for the most part. I do see a few great shows, though, such as Dora The Explorer, Arthur, etc. But for the most part, children's shows aren't any good in my opinion. I have my nieces and younger nephews watch my old Kid Songs videos from when I was a child and my old Disney Sing-A-Longs. They love them! Those were shows that kept a child sitting still for a while.

My children are very small now my elder daughter is 19 months old and younger one is just 6 months old, I am worried from now itslef because now a days we cant sit and watch all the shows along with children I will certainly allow them to watch only few shows which I think are good ones.

My son is 6 and watches children shows on cartoon network, PBS sprout, Disney channel, Nick channel, but mostly on Noggin. There are a few that I don't like (which I can't remember off the top of my head) but I don't contact the tv network to tell them stop airing the show. I just make sure my son doesn't watch it and change the channel to something else. Since English was not his first language, watching childrens shows actually helped a lot. It's good that a lot of the shows repeat stuff because that's how he learns quickly when things are repeated over and over again.

We do not like shows for our young children that have any sort of bad language or bad manners. (By bad language, I do not simply mean foul words; I mean anything that comes across rudely or disrespectfully.) Being impressionable, the children pick up very easily on language and behavior from the shows that they watch and are prone to repeat it. We do let them watch shows like Super Why, Dora the Explorer, Diego, Ni-Hao Kai-lan, Sesame Street, Between the Lions, and shows of this nature.

I think cartoons nowadays in Nicksplat are getting weirder and weirder. Also more violent too Good thing my daughter does not like much of cartoons from that channel. She likes Ben Ten though, because of her daddy. I've seen a lot of kids imitating these cartoon moves and at times it is not nice. I hope parents will supervise their kids if they allow them to watch it.

There are so many shows especially for children like educational, cartoon, animal shows & so many. Then why we should let them see the shows with bad impression on them. Some shows are really not good for childrren. They learn bad things quickly, pick up & repeat bad language & bad actions. Also we must pay proper attention for what they are watching.

I'm with you with Barney, I just find it very annoying and over-the-top. That's the only programme I stop her watching. If the TVs on a children's channel then I'm confident that there won't be any (other) bad programmes, especially if she's watching CBeebies (BBC baby channel), as these programmes are very controlled. I seem to be in the minority perhaps, but I do let her watch yo gabba gabba. I didn't think I liked it at first as it has lots of flashing lights and it seemed a bit noisy and frenetic, but after I actually sat down to watch it I realised that it's a good programme. They do repeat messages, but so do many educational kids shows, and so do teachers in schools, as repetition is a key part of how children learn things. And the things that they repeat are useful messages, like how to put on your pyjamas, how you should be nice to your friends and how if you try new foods then you might like them! I'm quite happy when my daughter comes out with things like this!

I do agree that some of these shows are actually not good for kids because instead of teaching them proper things they teach them gibberish and it's bad for their developing brains. They should really watch educational shows like Dora and Sesame Street.I'd say Sesame Street is the best children's show because I've learned a lot of it when I was a kid.

I am not too familiar with the kids shows today. I sure I will be soon as my daughter is growing. However, I am very disappointed in the way the cartoons have changed over the year. They have become very violent and different. When I was growing up they had the best cartoons like tome and jerry, flinstones, jetsons etc. The cartoons today are also automated and not drawn. THey just keep making them worse and worse. I can't imagine what will happen in the next few years. Its a very scary thought. They should really do something about it. You can even tell that kids are different these days too compared to a few years ago. The language and the violence, gee I wonder where they get it from.

There is a show on Noggin called Oobi. It is just hands that act as puppets. They speak in baby talk, pronounce wrong and speak incomplete sentences. My kids do not watch that. My kids are 3 and 4. They love Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Lazytown, Handy Manny, Blues Clues, Dora, Franklin and Little Bear to name a few. In all of those shows, they learn something, too.

Televisions and other media adds has big contribution on children today. Children can get anything that is not suitable for their age right now. There must be a parental guidance when they watch television or movies.

Yo Gabba Gabba drives me nuts! My (I can't believe I'm using this word already!) toddler loves it though. I try to switch channels before it comes on but sometimes I'm not paying enough attention, once it starts he stands there mesmorized. The "party in my tummy" song is really creepy! Wouldn't you be scared if your food talked to you!? I also don't like Barney, Sponge Bob, Power Rangers and wow wow wubzy.

I dont have kids but i watch the kids shows with my cousins little girl. I honestly dont think i'd let my own kids (if i had any) watch as much tv as my katie gets to watch. The shows she watches tend to be gibberish and not nearly as hmmm "good" as i remember shows i watched when i was a kid being. Sure there aren't a lot of kids shows with violence in them but..they tend to hide reality a bit too much. I used to love a show called raccoons and it used have messages about protecting the environment and nature in it. I'd never write to a network and demand that they take a show off of tv.
