Do You Buy American Made Products When Possible?

I am an avid supporter of American Made Products. I buy American whenever possible even if it means spending a few dollars more to get an item with the American Made Logo on it. Keep the jobs here and support American workers.
Icons like Levi's, Mattel, Stanley, etc. are no longer made here. You can find products comparable to the above that are made here, you just have to look for them.
I am sick of the shoddy, substandard products we're receiving from other countries. Not to mention a health hazzard and even downright dangerous. In 1980 a law was passed to do away with lead paint in toys and other items and yet here we are in 2008 with recalls regarding that very thing. The companies allowing this to happen are getting by with it because we continue to buy their products that they are outsourcing to countries that either don't care, don't have the same guidelines, or want to throw out as many products as possible to insure profits.
There are around 100 inspectors ports to inspect millions of products that reach our country daily. A minute fraction of products are inspected and the rest pass through without even being looked at. Hence, the recalls.
We buy American, to keep the jobs here. We want the workers in the US working again. We refuse to buy from Mattel (as an example) or any other company that is outsourcing their products.
So, do you buy American products when possible? Do you care? When's the last time you've looked at the tag to see where your Levi's were made? (Bet they don't fit like they use to.)

I definalty agree with you! It is very important to buy American products to support our country. I usually buy American made products, even more so since all of these re-calls from foreign countries. We have to support our workers!

I haven't really paid attention to where the products coe from when purchaseing something. You have made a good point though with the recent recalls on toys because o lead paint and other things. I guess I need to start watching on certain things now that this has really gotten my attention. It valuable information you have left here.
