how to use the ftp???

Well...there is a friend of mine who has a hosting account and that offers some ftps....well...to be frank i am not that well versed with the hosting concepts.... so any one please expain me how it workks..i mean ftp????

FTP Programs - FTP equals File Transfer Protocol. Good way to move files on your computer to your websites and internet work.
I use ws_ftp to move my files pictures and pat files to my chat rooms and also my website. It is a program you can move more than just one file or picture at time to move folders to places a lot faster. FTP=File Transfer Protocol.
