Is scared!!! Its dark in the house!!

Ive come home from work, went to close the curtains and turn the living room light on only it didnt come on. I tried the light upstairs but that was the same, so I tried the kitchen light and the hallway light and had the same outcome. I have electric obviously as Im on the computer, Ive got the tv on aswell.
Ive had workmen in the house today but not sure if they have done something. They have moved our fuse box but all of them are on except the kitchen sockets and the shower (as it has yet to be installed!!)
I can barely see the keyboard so wont be on the computer for long. this also means I cant read my book as we dont have a lamp downstairs, I might ave to go to bed and read in there!!! It is so annoying and makes me glad that at the moment I dont have children!!! Can you imagine if this happened to someone who had children? There is an emergency out of hours phone number but is this really an emergency??

I don't think that it is an emergency, but it is inconsiderate of them. Probably a fuse has tripped out on the fuse box, wherever that is now. When they arrive stand between them and the front door and leave it open. I am sure that all will be well. But it's as well to be safe. Ask them what the problem is when they leave. Tomorrow find the fuse box so that you will know where it is and which switch you need to flip to switch the lights back on again. Take care. Sorry to sound like a dad, but I am one!

Well the electrician came round last might but didnt want to do anything as it seemed to be something the workmen had done so I went to bed and read my book for a bit. I rang our coordinator up today and she sent the electricians round who are doing the work and I now have light except in the bathroom as the light bulb has disappeared (could be to do with the plasterers!?)
I have light now though!!! Hooray!!!! I can mylot properly now!!

I know where the fuse box is, there have just moved it so that instead of being on the left side it is right in front of you. I now have two front doors but am going to ask for their ID and leave both doors open in case I need to scream!! lol
I will try and find out why it has happened in case it happens again!! Fingers crossed it wont!!

how miserable. that's why i keep a good flashlight and more on hand. oil lamp too. we've had power loss many times and it is crippling. i hope you get your lights and life back.

Its not an actual power loss as I have electric just not through my lights!! I have rang the emergency number and they are coming out to have a look!! I hate being in the dark!!

get a generator i got two and thats not all
i got solar panels on the top of my house.. free electricity lol
