Today I woke up with stopped up ears; couldn't hear a thing.
I didn't think anything about it, until I went
in to wake up my daughter.
As I leaned over to wake her up, I nearly passed out.
Ever since I've been feeling light headed and strange.
I can't explain it. When I close my eyes, my head swims.
And when I lean over, I feel as if I might fall over.
I guess it's an equilibrium problem or my blood pressure
acting up.
I think I'm getting a virus or something else.
I never get sick anymore since the baby was born,
so maybe I've been pushing myself too hard.
Think I'm going to take the evening off Mylot.
Please feel free to drop by and share your best
homemade cold or flu remedies.
Or, just talk to me about the last time you got sick.
Let's commisserate.
(P.S. I'll try to be back in a bit to talk with you all)

SO sorry that you feel sick. Being sick is not fun at all.Sounds like you are getting a bad cold. Please take care of yourself and get enough rest and drink a lot of water. If you are not better in a couple of days I would go to the doctor.

I'm so sorry to hear that you woke up sick. I know how bad the stopped up ears can be, I have that a lot--it usually comes a few times a year for a few weeks or so, but currently I've had it for months, although I think it's a allergy or sinus problem, possibly related to not being used to the air where we moved to in January, because the problem started around the time I got down here. It does clear up a bit, actually I think it is better right now. I don't get really sick that often, but I get my sinuses acting up a lot. Anyway, I hope you feel better soon! Being sick is never fun! Try to get as much rest as you can.

Sounds like me! I have bad allergies and sinus problems every year.
For years, I got a very bad case of (what I thought was) flu.
Happened about the same time every year, too.
Turns out that it was sinusitis. Lots of pain and pressure in the head
and nose and across my forehead. Dizziness, too. I felt miserable.
Weird thing is that I kept treating it with OTC meds for flu and that
did no good at all.
Once I got sick for three weeks and it just never wanted to go away.
Thought it was a bad case of flu. Now I'm thinking it was sinusitis or
infection up inside my sinus area.
So I steamed my sinuses in the kitchen. Don't ask, it was gross.
But whatever was making me sick, came out of me and I got better
that same day. I definitely think it has been sinusitis, allergies
and ear infections this whole time. I wish I'd known sooner.
I'm really going to have to do something about this soon.
Maybe get a prescription from the doc or something.
I have never been so scared over my health.
I imagined the worst.
I took some time off today and didn't work online or offline.
Just relaxed. And I feel so much better!
Thanks for your kind comments.

Having dizzy spells is one of the worst things you can have when you are feeling sick in my opinion. You never know if you are going to fall or pass out.
Take good care of yourself and please do not feel preasured to respond if you get a lot of responses on this topic, we only want to wish you well!
Last time I was sick I couldn't stop vomiting for a couple of days, I couldn't keep anything in, and the time before that I believe it was a migraine. Luckily there was a big timespan inbetween them and I'm not sick as much as I used to be as a kid. I would get sick if I just looked at a person with the flue or another illness.
Take care hun, take your rest and we'll see you around again soon!

You are the sweetest person!
And you always amaze me with your words.
Thank you for your kindness.
I took the day off Mylot to rest
and it did a world of good.
I'm feeling much better now.
I think it might be related to allergies
or sinus infection or maybe fluid in the ear.
I'm going to look into all of those possibilities.
I know how you feel on the migraine issue.
I have migraines a couple times a month and they
are no fun! Not at all. I use Extra Strength Tylenol
though some people say that Excedrin works better.
Take care of yourself!
And thanks for your well wishes.

beautyqueen 26 thelast time I got sick and still am to some'
extent was a month ago, for a week before the evil thing happened I had these bad pains in my left side and i thought it was IBS but my doctor thought it was my diverticulitis kickingup. so he put me on two antibiotics. well the next day I broke out with
'zillions of tiny blisters just on one side of my body across'my abdomen and goint to the center of my back. I had three seiges with acylovir and it help;ed but did not clear them out, so now i am on a medication for nerve pain and finally the shingles are getting littler and littledr but still have the nerve pain szaps which feel a lot like when you walk across a rug and touch a light switch, you get a mild shock, thats what these feel like.I should be well by the end of this month. hopefully.I am wearing clothes for the first time in dayws and its not too bad really.

Oh Wow Hatley!
My Dad had the Shingles when I was a teenager and he had them on his forehead.....
Much worse than a headache so he said and I believe him as I had shingles on my bre*st a couple years ago and it was aweful....I'm thirty and my Dad still has scares from his...Mine were caught early and thankfully I have no scares but hope to never get them again!
My thoughts are with you

Hey BeautyQueen.
Sorry you are not feeling well today.
It sounds as if you have an ear infection or fluid on the ear drum. You did say the your ears were stopped up. If there is pain involved, get to the doctor.
My left ear filled up a few years ago. I could feel it clear down to almost the base of my neck. I would tug on my earlobe to see if I could open it up a little bit so that I could hear better. That didn't work.
I wound up going to the doctor and she prescribed Claritin. In a few days it was cleared up and I could hear much better, too.
Back when I was in high school, it felt like my head was gonna fall off the top of my neck because I was light headed, even while sitting. I had an ear infection then, too.
If things don't clear for you, go ahead and got to the doctor.

Thanks Blue Ruby moon! I will check into the Claritin
idea. I have severe sinusitis during the summer and lots
of hay fever symptoms. I figured it might be some kind
of allergic reaction, cause I've had it before.
The fluid in the ear does make sense!
Thanks for the tips!
Have a lovely day.

how could you even post being so miserable? take care of your self you need rest. i have been that bad before and it's no picnic. no need to discuss how i felt because you already do. drink fluids as much as you can. soup is the best food if you can eat anything. just the broth is best. solid food can make you feel worse.

It sounds like some kind of a virus to me. I always get that way when I get the flu. Mind you, I can't bend over at the best of times. If I bend over and then try to get up again, I'll faint.

I hope you get to feeling better. I drink a lot of hot lemonade with honey myself. That sometimes helps me. If your equalibrium is acting uo. You might want to get to a doctor. I have had that happen before myself. Get plenty of rest and take care of yourself.

Thanks for your kind comments.
I'm feeling much better now after some rest.
I think it's just allergies or fluid in the ears.
My sinuses have been giving me real problems for years now.
I guess this is just another phase.
I'll be sleeping on a bigger pillow from now on.
I always sleep more restfully like that anyway and it helps
me breath better. I've noticed my ears don't stop up so often.
Thanks again!
Take care of yourself.

Sorry to hear that your not feeling well, but to me it sounds like you may have an ear infection, or inner ear infection, especially if your getting dizzy and off balance. I had that one time, and I had a swimmy head all the time, just dizzy and off balance, like I was drunk or something, I went to the doctor and guess what he told me, I thought it was an ear infection, but he said I had motion sickness, so I started taking motion sickness medicine and after a couple weeks I got better. I mean it was annoying feeling like that, I couldn't stand and walk for too long because I'd start getting dizzy and would have to sit down for awhile, it was wierd and why I got motion sickness I don't know, I thought it was something you got from riding in a car or airplane or a boat..lol I hope you start feeling better soon..

Motion sickness, really? I had not considered that.
Thinking back over the past few years, I've had these
symptoms for some time. And I'd always thought the light
headed feeling might be related to low iron levels, but
even after my diet got better, I still would feel light headed
as if I was going to pass out.
I'm going to check into this possibility.
Thanks for the information.
You've been very helpful!

Rest in bed, drink plenty of liquids. Saline nasal spray, mucinex type OTC meds. Horseradish, either to eat or smell. Fresh pineapple. Extra sleep. (as if a mom can ever get that.) Well wishes from your friends. I think you will get plenty of that from us.

I took a rest today and feel better.
I will have to watch my health better so as

I am sorry to hear about that.I get that feeling too.It can either be my equillibrium or sinus pressure.I had fluid behind my ear due to my sinuses draining behind my ear canal. The doctor has me on medicine which I dont like because they are as big as horse pills.I always either have ear infection or sinus infections and headaches.Headaches could be due to my stress at time or sinuses. It feels like something is in or near my ear with this fluid behind my ear.Take care and get some rest and hopefully you will feel better.I hope you feel better soon.

Thank you for your kindness.
Yes, I do believe the problem is related
to my ears or sinuses, maybe an infection of some kind.
For years, I've suffered with bad sinus infections
and sinus pain and migraines, especially during the summer.
I guess the dizziness and stopped up ears are just another
sign that allergy season is kicking in for me!

I hope that you do not have a sinus infection because those are horrible. Anyhow, try drinking some warm tea. Mint tea tastes the best to me. Isn't as bitter as most other teas. Try your best not to take anitbiotics because they are not good for you. I don't think many people realize it but antibiotics actually means "against life". Also, eat lots of apples and drink apple juice that's a good way to thin and clear mucous. Perhaps, there is a build up of it in your head.
