My girls are now 4 year old and as you all know they are ready to go to kindergarten next year. But since, they are reading words and all the first level books. they are also doing math. Their principal called me yesterday and talked to me that she wants to enroll them for kindergarten, this school year. What do you guys think, shall I say yes to her or shall I wait till next year.

No matter what people on here say to you it all comes down to what you want for your children. It is great and wonderful that you daughters are already ahead of the game this early. Plus, if the principal notices it then that is a great thing. So if you want my opinion I think that you should. But, before you sit down and make any dicensions weigh out the pros and cons on starting them early in school.

My friend vidhyagowri, it is good that the principal has seen the potential in your children at this early stage. Yes I would recommend that you make them start kindergarten. If you see that they are unable to grasp the more advice lesson you can make them repeat next year. Maybe you will be surprise to see that they are truly at this level and you won't be disappointed.

There are advantages and disadvantages. My husband skipped grades, and was so ar behind his class in age. He said he'd never skip his kids because of the social problems.
I, on the other hand, wish that I ould have been skipped (I could have been but Mom had the same attitude as my husband) because I am not a social person, and I wanted to get out of there ASAP!!

your brother may be right some times. But if there is nothing in the pre school level other than coloring and crafts, As you said, we should finish this ASAP

It would depend upon who mature they are. If the girls could handle going to school for their maturity I would go for it. If they need to stay home another year then I would say do that also. You do not want to push them into going to school if they are not mature enough for it.

That is really cool that your girls are so clever! I am not sure what I would do if it was my daughter, I would be proud that they wanted her early but I am not sure I would like to send her so early, it would be hard.
