Good call. I'm glad that you do. It is good for both yourself and the person that you are rating. Since I found out about rating, I do the same. Happy rating:)

yes if i started a discussion I always go back and check and rate the comments and I always try and reply to them too and also did you know that you can mark the best response too for the comment that you think had the most information or advise for your topic?

Ditto. If I post something, I always go back and try to respond to all the other posts. I also try to rate them. However, I am going to just start rating those that are deserving (per Belhaven's suggestion). Thanks

i rate the responses tht get left on my discussion. i think tht if someone makes a good responses or has a good oppion about it i like to let them know tht i like it by rating it and commenting back on it. i just wish tht it was a scale insted of just being a plus or minous. people would get abetter idea of wht people thought of there comment or responses.

True, I know I like to know what people think after I write it. I am sure there are many others like that, too.

I don't rate often. Because i try to give feedback to those who responds to my discussions. If i do it there is double benefit of it. First, the responders get happy because they got a feedback for their response. Second, those discussions automatically get rated if you leave a comment.
If i don't or can not give a feedback i simply rate it. But i never gave a negative rating even the responses are thrown at me are negative.

No problem. Another memebr enlightened me about it. Knowledge is nothing if you do not pass it on.

Hello, Yes I do rate my responses. I try to rate them all. I do hope that you enjoy Mylot and will come to love it as much as we do. Lots of luck to you.

I don't rate them nearly as much as I probably should. I tend to only rate those who responces that really are interesting or right on target. I think rating everyone will dilute the results a little bit. If everyone rates every comment, then it will be hard to tell how many positives are because of friendly conversation or quality posts. I do negative mark every time I see spam or unrelevant content. Of course, sometimes I read a good responce and just forget to rate.

Very true. I think I may use your philosophy and only rate the deserving ones. i like the idea on giving a negative to the spam. Thanks for your input.

I'm glad you agree with my way of doing it. I still catch myself being more generous to friends and those who respond to a lot of my discussions. I try to rate them the same though.

On all my discussions if I get responses where I know the person put in some effort to answer my questions or post a response that is on topic, then I will rate them positively, but if a person is off topic or gives me a one line or word responses then I will give them no rating, and if they insult me in anyway shape or form then I will rate them negatively.

Yes i do but only after a month or so.I was really new then and i don't know what to do.Mostly i go over discussions/questions regarding mylot. And from there i learn how to go around here in mylot. You can go over your discussions then maybe you can start rating them. It's never too late.
