how bad are your cramps?
and what do you do when you are having your period?
and how is your attitude towards others when you are having it?
there was once when it was soooo bad that i threw up and was ill for a while...
i hate it....
but it lasts for about 2 days, sometimes 3, so i guess it is ok....

I had them very bad before I started the pill. I stopped the pill and had them bad again and took a Motrin and they went away. The next time I had a period, I exercised a lot before it started...the first day I noticed some spotting because I get my cramps on the 2nd day of my period. So I went to the gym and I worked out really hard and did a lot of cardio and didn't have ANY cramps at all! I was so stoked about this, so I have been doing it since and as long as I do a lot of exercise while on my period I won't get cramps!

When this was applicable to me (no longer is for medical reasons), the first 24-48 hours were debilitating! Just awful!!! They seemed to get better as I aged. There was never any reason any MD could find for this - believe me I asked! Guess some people have it worse than others. But if it that bad for you, I would ask an MD if you haven't just in case you can do something and don't have to suffer that every month! I feel for ya!

my period doesnt get too bad..actually i have my period right now...i mostly get headaches...if i cant bear the headaches, i take 2 aspirins. i dont get zits anymore. i rarely throw up, but it usually just lasts one day, if that happens at all. i just try to relax and keep busy with aromatherapy products, soft music, long walks, read a book, play on the computer, watch a good movie, anything to take my mind of it...

my cramps are usualy bearable..
it would usually only get really really truly very bad only about once a year..
during those time, i can't even get out of bed...
i would just curl up into a ball and stay there till the pain is gone...
it would last for about a couple of hours with aid of painkillers..
:(
i would consider my PMS to be a bigger problem...
it would usually happen 2 days before my period starts and and about 2nd to the 3rd day of my period..
my boyfriend would count the dates and wear the army hat(for protection against me)

When I was younger they would nearly knock me out but now I have one or two stabbing pains and a bit of mild cramping and that is it, literally. I'm not complaining at all cause I remember how bad they used to be.

a piece of advice because i suffered a lot of that too when I haven't given birth yet- if your period is regular, a week before your period, these are the things you should and should not do:
Do's and Don'ts:
1) DRINK HOT milk or coffee or chocolate or whatever it is you drink in the morning for breakfast. This is to slowly breakdown the accumulated blood in our uterus which will become your monthly period. Avoid drinking very cold water during the day..
2) DON'T EAT SOUR OR SPICY FOODS. Like green mango and/or viands with chili pepper. This tends to thicken the blood or coagulates. That's why we have cramps.
3) PUT HOT COMPRESS from navel going down. This will somehow relieve some of the pressure and pain.
4) TAKE LUKEWARM SHOWER at night. I have observed that when I take a cold shower at night, my period stops for a few minutes. This allows further clotting and so painful cramps.
5) IF POSSIBLE WEAR FLAT SHOES, only for the duration of the period. Wearing heels could take a toll on your legs and thus creating swollen varicose veins.
6) PUT YOUR FEET UP WHEN YOU GET TO REST OR WHEN YOU'RE AT HOME. Let the blood flow freely from your tired legs, one way to avoid those green and bloodred veins.
Try these first and somehow you'll see the difference..Sorry it's a little long..I only said a piece of advice but it turned out a bit longer than expectedlol...
Lastly, have a baby..for all the cramps will disappear... lollol
Now, when i have my period, i don't have severe cramps anymore. But, the moodswings are still there..So, when i have a period,my husband knows best to stay away and don't make a mistake of getting me irritated, because all things will fly

I don't have this problem any longer. I had to have a hysterectomy at age 30 because of fibroid tumors. I do remember how it feels though. I had awful cramps. I also have fibromyalgia and my pain level went through the roof that week of every month.
I never really had PMS. I'm not lying either, even my husband says he was lucky..lol.

Hi,
I am one of the few women who don’t experience cramps during menstrual period. So I haven’t really experienced the pain. But my mother would always tell me that on the second and third day, I should bath in lukewarm water. And worst is do not take a bath on the second day(but I don’t follow that). She says it avoids the pain.
Take care
