I'm gathering peppermint and spearmint for stomach troubles and to add to ice cream or teas.
I'm also gathering soapwort to make soap and jewelweed as an anti-poison ivy, oak, etc. remedy.
Do you have or are you gathering any medicinal or soap plants?

That's how many days we've had of rain and incredibly high humidity. The tropical rain forests have moved to the North Country!

I dont gather any herbs myself, but I have often had a wander into the herbalists and taken a look at the shelves, and the variety of herbal lotions and potions on the shelves are amazing.I always think you would really have to know what you were doing to use any of them!theres a herbal remedy for practically every ailment ,but you need to know which one for which ailment!

Most of us who are interested in herbs have books on herbs at the very least. Many have identification books like me and still others have current magazines about the latest in herbs. So for people who are really, really into it, like a hobbie or pasttime, no problem. Even people who narrowly search only for an assist with one ailment continuously keep up really well in that one area. So for us, it's not too hard. People who only read one article in their entire lives, or grab something because of what the label says, now they scare me. There is a lot to know and they should be doing way more than that. Sounds like you know that you don't know and that's a much better place to start. Thanks and take care.
