When we were kids our family used to play board games,and today our daughter and son in law play Monopoly with their daughter.The only thing is that she has to get used to losing!!If she loses her money she has a drama queen moment!!Did you play board games as a family when you were children??

Scrabble is a very good game for pitting your wits,and training your brain!.I play online scrabble and its a good site,its an interactive site,where people log on from all ove the world to play,the scrabble is played in many different languages too.My daughter is a member as well and sometimes we will have a game together.If you want to you can chat to your partner as you play,and sometimes thats very interesting.They play with a few dictionaries,the one that I play by is called the sowpods dictionary..but you should look it uo im sure you may well enjoy it.

Hi ruby,
When we were young( my Sister and I), we always play cards with Dad and Mom and we will be using coins as our bet..LOL! It was really very funny.. Sometimes, we will end up peeing due to hard laughing..LOL!
We are still doing it during brownout, like when there is no electricity in our town and the only thing we can think of to have fun is to play cards..I miss those time...LOL!I am away from them now and I am sure, when we are going to visit them, we will be playing again!

We used to play pontoon for pennies and if we won we thought that we were well rich!!it was so exciting ,we werent allowed to play very often,as it wasnt really the done thing for children to be allowed to gamble,but lol how we enjoyed it!!Much the same as you did by the sound of it!!

I was an only child so much of the time I had to play board games alone. But when my Dad or my Nan played them with me they would both cheat, in Monopoly they were always the banker and they always used to cheat!!

My Father was always the banker in Monopoly and he used to get very irate if he didnt win!!if the bank ran short of money he then accused us of cheating!!and then it would start a little row,and we all would fall out!!Dad would stomp off into the front room,and lol that was the end of the game of Monopoly.

Oh no we never played anything as a faily,but us kids used to play snakes n ladders and some Ludo,we had great fun,and if one of us lost the temper then it was the board going all over the place.

The simple games are oftern the most fun!!and the amount of times that the boards must end up being thrown about the room is no odds to nobody!!My Granny used to love to play Snap,the card game,and she never failed to cheat,she used to shout out Snap,grab the cards and claim she had won!!we never got a look in!!

They are god fun,I used to love the snakes and ladders and Ludo.You dont see children playing them today.I havent seen my grandchildren playing them at all!!They do like jigsaws though ,and I was suprised at the way they sat and did a jigsaw,they had quite a bit of patience.

My brother and I used to play board games: Monopoly, Scrabble, Cluedo, Snakes & Ladders, Chess, etc. It's really funny because it's only the two of us. When we play Cluedo, we know who wins. And to think these games are multiplayer. We did have fun even if it's only us two.

I used to play a lot of Solitaire Ruby,being left on my own a good deal it was a good game for me to play.I have never played Monopoly,im not sure what it is all about,except I know the game is all about the property market.Winning and losing money on property.I like a game of chess,but im not good at chess,you need to be stategically minded to play the game ,it is like a War on a board,and you have to attack,well the attacking is w eak point for me,I only seem to climb the board so far and then I am caprtured.I have always admired the grand masters,they are ace chess players of course.We also played draughgts which of course is much simpler.A couple of years back we took a visit to Las vegas,and we had a few flutters in the card tables there,we also played roulette,the croupiers were interesting to watch,and they were for the most part very glamourous young women.Black jack is a good game too.We had a few quid on the slot machines but they eat the money very quickly,so we left them alone after a while.But there were loads of women with piles of dollars just feeding the machines endlessly,obviously theri budgets were far bigger than mine lol
