Have anyone success doing online sales as business?

Today there is so many site which offer online auction/buy directly besides ebay. online auction,silkfair,ioffer,..etc.
i found its very exciting to selling online, its global and you could get buyers from all around the world anytime. I wondering if someone out there really success and doing it as a living...where do you sell,what you sell and what your future expectation?

My mother-in-law, is very successful on Ebay. She sells anything from porcelain dolls to rare items that are hard to find anywhere else. How does she find these items to sell? Well, she goes to a lot of yard sales, and estate sales,and most of the time finds some really nice items. She resells them on Ebay and they make her some good money. Just the other day she sold an item that made her 250 dollars! She has so much to sell that it has made her a good income for the past 3 years. I'm thinking of starting to sell some items myself. I have many things that I feel would be more useful to others.
