just curious. i for one, would feel very uncomfortable if i didn't lock my bedroom door before going to sleep. it's not that i don't trust my family or what, i just don't want someone invading my bedroom especially when i'm sleeping like someone would get my notebook, money, etc. without my knowledge. i consider my bedroom as my private and one of the sacred place that's why. i also lock my bedroom door when i'm going to school or to somewhere else lol

I don't even have a lock on my bedroom door. I don't like to be enclosed in a room I am a tad bit chlosterphobic and the thought of a fire breaking out and my door being locked is scary so I would not lock it when I was sleeping even if it had a lock on it.

oh yes, i agree with you luvstochat. i left my bedroom open even when i had a roommate! in another bedroom in my house. they were the oppisite tho. they locked theirs. or maybe just closed it, i never tried to see. i believe in privacy and i think everyone that knows me trusts me not to invade it.

I prefer locking my bedroom before I go to sleep. Like you I do not want anybody to invade my privacy, when I am asleep. I feel I should have a peaceful sleep, without any kind of disturbance from anybody, untill and unless there is an emergency. If the bedroom door is locked and someone knocks, you get ample opportunity to set you right.........if you are in any such position.........specially with your partner........LOL!

yea i do too. the reason i do is for the comfert that i get when im sleeping. my parents not having to wake me up and stuff and wont know what im doing (sleeping). also because i dont like it when someone passes by and look at my room dirty and unclean.... especially if theyre guest in the house.

Hi rhane, I am not used to lock my bedroom in my parents house when I was single..We will only lock the main door and the gate..But, My dad will always lock their room...He can't sleep well if it's not lock! LOL! When I used to rent an apartment with my Sister,, we always lock it! We felt very safe if we will do it even if we were only 4 in those house and the main door also is locked! Here with my husband, we are not locking our door..Same as usual, only the main door is lock!

I agree, rhane. A personal bedroom is truly personal. I lock mine from within at any given time of the day, simply because I don't want people intruding and take me by surprise or catch me doing something stupid.

I always lock my bedroom door before going to sleep. It's for security reasons. The style of my house is there's an open space or more like a pathway wherein the rooms are separated to the dining and living room. So I have to lock it. And even on daytime, when the kids are at school, I do lock my door whenever I'm inside my room.

my bedroom is also my private area. but i stay with my parents only. i just keep it shut a bit, not locked. also they have some things of theirs kept at my room. so i do not bother much about it.

I never had a lock on my bedroom door when I was a child, I wish I had. I have many times beofre slept behind a locked door as a young adult. Now I do not even have a bedroom door. We each change as we grow older. Maybe some day I will get a door but for now I just have verticle blinds to close for privacy sake.

I do not lock my bedroom door at night because I have been told not to. My stepfather is a fire fighter and he always told us that a locked bedrrom door at night is a fire hazard. Not bescause it will cause a fire but because it prevents you from having an easy way out of the house if there was a fire.

Hi, I don't lock my bedroom door. In fact it is open all the time. It's only my husband and my dogs that live here so there is really no need. We don't even lock our outside doors. We do have an alarm system that I set before going to bed so it would go off if somebody tried to open the outside doors. Plus we have five dogs that would alert us if anybody even got near the door. Since my hu8sband and I are the only residents of this house and sleep in the same bed, there seems to be no need to lock the bedroom door. We wouldn't even close that door if there were not the need to keep out our cat, who would disturb my sleep.

I don't lock my door when I'm at home for the summer but when I'm at college at my apartment I often lock my door so my roommates don't bother me.

Me as well, we keep our door locked when we are inside, because it's not only us live in one house, my brothers and sister are also living with us. So it keeps us private, they need to be knocked first. Thanks and good day!

no, i don't because our parents check on us if we're present even in our beds.. and we have this tradition, that whenever one of us siblings got this kind of sick of being alone in bed, we tend to go sleep with others bed, or just go there and disturb us and tell us stories and jokes until dawn or until our eyes can't open anymore.. sometimes i still do sleep with my mother my father.. that's what we call close family ties..

Nope, for I have no lock! I usually don't worry about others invading my bedroom, not so much because they're family but because I know my room is too much of a mess for them to bother invading anyways. If I didn't want them to have access to money or papers, it's relatively easy for me to hide them in my dungeon. Granted, security by obscurity is never fool-proof, but security by obscurity against lazy fellows sure is!
