Does it storm a lot where you live?

For the past two months we have got a lot of storms. Especially in the past month. Almost every time we have a storm our internet and cable go out! A while ago we switched to satellite because it is A LOT cheaper than the cable company where I live. We don't want to switch back to the cable company because of the money. We did have this company when it was winter and the cable and the internet never went out.
Does your cable cable or internet go out when you have storms? What do you do while it storms? Do you read a book, write, take a nap? When it does storm in your area are they usually bad storms or just some rain with a little thunder?
I think this summer is the summer that we have gotten the most storms. We usually get quite a few storms in the summer but not this many. Some are just rain with a little thunder and then some are kind of bad. Not really bad, just some lightning, occasional hail.
I look forward to your responses.

Storms are a rarity where i live, and so is the rain.. All we have all through the year is the Scorching Sun.. engulfing.. consuming.. and never you have day temperatures below 90 F's, and humidity is always at high percentage.

Sounds like we live in the same area. Ever since the beginning of June, we've had a storm about every day here. What's worse is that one of our my dogs is absolutely terrified of storms and heavy rain. It poured here yesterday for a few minutes, then sprinkled for a while. There are some days where it will just thunder, and not a a drop of rain will fall in the area. Our cable will go out every once in a while in this house. At my old house, it would go out every time it even rained, which meant that there had to be something wrong with the cable itself, I am sure. When it storms, I usually just unplug my laptop, and I play around on it still until either the storm is over, or the battery is getting very low. Lately, if it storms, it REALLY REALLY storms. There was one night that I woke up, and the lightning was so close that my room was completely illuminated through the blinds. It was so bright, as if headlights were aimed at my window or something. I haven't seen hail in a long while, though.

Yep storms here almost every day in the summer. I wouldn't mind it if the cable and internet didn't do that. Hopefully I can get a laptop soon so that I can do that also. I am going to need one soon. Our animals aren't afraid of the storms. Yeah the other day it was lightning and I was trying to sleep, I kept seeing the lights out of the room.

being in a tropical country, thunderstorms and rainshowers were experienced almost everyday especially in wet season, june-december there are only 2 season in our country - wet / rainy season and dry / sunny season). tropical storms lasts for about days even a week with winds travelling more than 180 kph. people get so accustomed to the storm which brought floods, blackouts, occasional mudslides, etc. that we just do our usual thing even during storms.
internets are fine even for cable. basically because they were installed to withstand rains and thunderstorms, even worse tropical storm. so its internet surfing all day. if not, for instance, there's blackout, we'll lay in bed all day or play board games and tell ghost stories to keep us entertained.
