A firm in Guernsey has started to make affordable cardboard coffins. Not only are they very economical and also environmentally friendly, you can choose your own theme for your coffin. You can have it painted in football colours, with a golfing theme,a fashion theme..in fact you ask and they will customise it for you!!!..so just for fun, nothing gloomy what theme would you choose???

Hey there ruby222
What a novel idea, I am surprised no one has thought about it before now but then I guess it's not to everyone's taste. Hmmm what would I have on my coffin I really don't know - sorry, will have a think about it and get back to you!!

Unless my conversion table is wrong, that's not much less than the traditional wood, etc. If I'm going to become biodegradable in a big hurry (cardboard goes quickly), I want it to be really cheap!

I want to be be cremated Ruby and have always liked the idea of being pushed into the fiery furnace in something cardboard. I think that it would have to be decorated with photographs of my favourite places. Hanging around those places in my spectral form will five me great satisfaction.

Too bad coffins generally go into cement vaults so that really it doesn't matter what they are made of, the entire burial process really isn't very economically friendly. I think it is cool to have customizable coffins, even though I really don't want to be buried. I think that mine would be a pop tart. That would be fun.

That sounds interesting! I really would not know what to choose, I guess I could have a Garfield the cat one, I really love that cat and so that would be quite fitting for me I guess! Not sure I like the idea of laying in cardboard though, mind you saying that I have no intentions of being buried so it matters not really what I am put in!
