women vs. men

I have observed that while men are usually not competitive and easily get comfortable to make friends or talk with each other in crowds or gatherings, women usually take time to do so. Is it because women are naturally competitive with their looks and in getting male attention? try to observe this in crowds and you'll surely see what I mean.I have gone to conferences, seminars, large meetings, etc. While men usually are able to have conversations in large groups, women usually stay by two's or the most by three's. Or is it something cultural. Maybe women in your place are different.

I don't know about competitiveness, I always have assumed it is because women generally do not trust other women

Yeah, I do believe in your last statement. The women in our place are, maybe, different from your's. Here I really have the opposite feeling; that guys are always trying to outdo each other, and are more snobbish and competitive. Well, the girls are also competitive, I've seen that in every girl of my college, but somehow they gel with other girls together as if they have no grudge, no competitive feelings towards each other. It's almost as if they're all united, up in arms against the guys. Another peculiar thing is that, whenever a group of women come together in one place, strangers though they may be, they'll always have topics upon which they all can gossip on for hours at a stretch. The guys here betray their friends more in order to get personal advantages. It's really refreshing to hear that people in other parts of the world are different.

Wow, it sure seems a cultural thing..though by the time people here reach old age, they more likely change and become more friendly with their age group..maybe because evrybody had had enough time to prove themselves by then..Thanks
