Nina Fischman mysteries

Has anybody here ever read any of the mysteries featuring Nina Fischman? The author was Marisa Piesman. 5 or 6 of them I think were published up until a few years ago. Then the series just stopped. Does anybody have any info about why the author stopped writing -- which I assume she did? Also,if you are familiar with these mysteries, can you recommend any current mysteris that might be similar to the Nina Fischman ones?
