How should we punish child molesters?

We are hearing about it more and more. Some sick and twisted person gets their jollies by using children as some kind of pleasure toy. but in my opinion they never seem to get a harsh enough punishment. Their victim has to suffer a life sentence because of what this sick person has done to them. So my question is how do you think these people should be punished?

I wonder why also why they are not giving these people heavy sanctions! In our area, they are living near the schools and parents are scared about it..They are trying to scort their kids everyday because of this situation and people are hoping that the government will take action on this matter! I wish!
