ok i was looking at my stars today and i am at 7 and i have been there for awhile and i am happy to be a seven and i am not complaining or anything like that...but i was just wondering how many positive ratings that you have to get to move it up or does it even have anything to do with that? i mean i have been trying to post good quality post for all of you and trying to help people out by telling them my advice and things like that...so i was just wondering if it depends on the amount of post you do or the quality or the answers you get to your discussions...or does it depend on how people rate you? thanks for reading my discussion and i hope that you can help me with this because i really wonder about this...thanks again for reading and i hope that you all had a great day!

Hello there jhl930 I you know I am new to mylot and as soon as I got to 100 comments I had a star rating of 8 which was pretty cool and then the day after it was a 9, even cooler!! I don't think it has much to do with your discussions but how much people rate you on your comments and responses. I am of course not sure but that is how I see it. Cheers

None of us really know how it works beyond the common sense parrt of it....more pluses make it higher, more negatives make it lower. The exact numbers are pretty much one big math problem that we could figure out but it's not really worth the time since we don't even know for sure how the rating system actually works. I think of it on a percentage scale. If you had a 50/100 that would mean 50%, so then you'd divide 100 by your post count to see how much of a percentage each post equals, then you'd be able to add up how many positives you'd need to reach a certain number....except you'd never get it right because as soon as you posted even just one more post, your numbers would be off so really it would be pointless.
