Have you ever been held up at gunpoint because of road rage?

My husband has. This all happened right down the street where we lived. My husband was on his way to pick me up from work when he drove up to a stop sign where there was a truck parked in front of him. So my husband waited for the car to go. It never did, so my husband honked (we now know that was the wrong thing to do) for the car to move, well the guy in the truck bent down like he was getting something and then got out of the truck started walking over to my husband and pointed a gun at my husband. Well my husband swerved to drive past the guy nearly running over the guy and the guy then kicked our car leaving a dent. So my husband drove off and dialed 911 and the guy jumped in his truck and drove off chasing my husband. Our town is not that big so the cops arrived pretty fast and drove past my husband towards the guy (my husband gave the description to 911) so they picked the guy up after a struggle with the cops. Turned out the guy was on drugs and they found drugs and money in the truck as well as the gun on him. Turned out he was some sort of drug dealer, he went to jail. Well ever since then my husband never honks at people and tells me to do the same. Because he says you never know what kind of people are out there.

It happens in Delhi all the time, we have witnessed the serious form of road rage but fortunately never got into one. the morning rush is maddening with bumper to bumper snarling is unavoidable, it is unevitable that your car sometimes brushes a biker since we don't have a separate lane for two wheelers in our city. and people hardly follow the lane system. So it happened that a car in front of us with a lady driving hit a school van from the back at a intersection. the driver came out of the vehicle , he was so furious held the lady's hair , dragged her out of the car, slapped her so hard, it was shocking to see that. it took sometime for me to realise what was happening. this has literally scared me to drive a car.every body is in a hurry to reach their destination, people should be more cultured and civilized towards other drivers. I advice my husband never to argue with a fellow driver, god knows what is their in his mind, might take out a knife and stab him. So drive safe, take care, bye.

Exactly don't use hand gestures, or anything hostile. There are so many crazies out there nowadays. I'd rather get somewhere alive and late, than not get there at all.

It's really sad that some people would resort to violence for being annoyed with someone behind the wheel. I was once followed by someone I "cut off". He had his turn signal on, so I figured he was turning, so I went ahead and merged onto the street. Turns out it wasn't the street he was looking for, so he went straight instead. He followed me for about 7 miles before I called the police. They pulled him over, but later that day my car was keyed. We couldnt prove it was him because it could have been "circumstantial." It's very scary but I was thankful that I wasn't by my car when he came back, it could have been me he cut up!! Now I'm always careful not to give someone else road rage.

I know you have to be so careful nowadays. And sometimes I have to admit I'll cut off someone totally by accident and I'm like "crap, crap, crap I didnt mean to". But they don't know that and could come after me for all i know. That is scary what happened to you. I'm glad you weren't in the car. take care and drive safe.
