Golden Girls marathon in tribute to Estelle Getty

friday july 25th starting at noon to 5pm eastern time there will be a golden girls marathon in tribute to Estelle Getty..
i figured there are a lot of Estelle Getty fans out there that might want to catch this.. and im glad they are doing SOMETHING for her since its three days after i was afraid they wouldnt do anything

Thanks for the reminder. I just love the show and watch the reruns any chance I get. I'm also glad the station is doing this for her.

oh and im gonna put here that its on the "lifetime channel" lol i dont think i included that in the original post lol.. and im glad too.. i love the golden girls!!

Yep! 
I had been hoping, and thinking they would do this. I wasn't getting my hopes up. But I was so happy to see it happen! When I woke up I turned my tv on and I had programmed it to start, so it was already on lifetime! I think it is so great that they did that in her honor! I watch it all the time anyway, but it was nice to see today. Also, I had been seeing at the end of the show they've been having her picture and 1923-2008, so I thought that was a nice thing as well! 
It is sad to see such a person pass on, but at least she's not in pain, and we the living can keep her memory alive by enjoying the work she left behind.

Yep, I heard about the dementia as well. So sad, but she is at peace now, like you said! I watch it everyday as well, if I'm up at 8am I watch it from 8-9am, 3-4pm and then again at 12-1am! LOL Plus, I have season 1 on dvd, and hope to get the rest at some point! Although, I mostly get dvd's for Christmas.. so it might be a while before I have all the seasons.. hehe

i watch golden girls everyday lol.. from what i understand she had dementia and wasnt expected to have lived as long as she did so im glad she is at peace now

i wonder what the actress that play blanche (Rue McClanahan) does now?? i know bea author does or did do stand up.. betty white does those commercials for pets.. im guessing Rue McClanahan is still alive?!?!
