Aside from work and family life, been busy following closely the socio-political scenes where i lived, mostly through the internet. Yes, the internet is truly one of humanity greatest modern technology.
Apart from expanding our knowledge and bringing people closer together, of which this forum is a good example, it also widen perspectives on happenings in the place i lived. Specifically, the above-mentioned scenarios. It is definitely healthy to have alternative news and views on a situation other than the ones been fed to us via the media, which could be and is controlled by the those in power.
All this while, i'm a product of my country's education system. Its education taught me rote-learning, to memorized facts and figures. It is sad to say that the system has bred citizens which are incapable or refuse to think critically. Citizens who are too "lazy", who are stuck in their comfort zones, either too busy in their work or family life, to see and seek out the truth.
People who having had a higher education thinks that higher education means a higher paying job which equates to a better life. Those who are well-off, and those in a position of power, after their formal education are over, stop seeking knowledge to improve themselves and their fellow brothers and sisters. Instead, they chose to abuse their power and position to enrich themselves. To espouse racism and hate.
Is this what knowledge is all about? Is this what knowledge is used for?
Humans has been brought closer now more than ever, through economic trade and cooperation, communications, of which the internet is a good example and to a certain extent, inter-racial marriages.
Everyone should be aware that change is one of the constant in life. Life itself is a journey and not a destination. And what is life but a learning experience.
Here is an interesting articles about humanity and why we should all work together for the common good. We may still be a long way towards that objective but for now, i leave you to ponder.
Have a good weekend then. Cheers.

Joshua thanks for sharing this.
This goes to show your level of thinking, the meaning of knowledge to you. We hugely confuse higher education with knowledge , where as there is hardly any link. You could be little learned and have higher values which someone with inflated academic degrees might not!
I will go through Adi Na's writings before answering further. Thanks for this.

Hi Mimpi, good to 'see' you here again.
As what is happening in my country, so-called learned and highly positioned people are abusing their position and knowledge for their own selfish gain. Would not go into details but anyone who's curious could easily know what i'm talking of.
As regards Adi Da's, i did a little research on the internet (again, a great tool), and found he was some sort of controversial spiritual personality. Must admit his writings on his "Not-Two Is Peace" are quite captivating and convincing, although i certainly do not have a tolerance for this 'personality cult' thing. Any teachings that idol-worship a person is not healthy, don't you think?
Anyway, you have a good day ya. Take care.

Hi Joshua,
good to see you as well.
I agree with you. In today's world we would rather get inspiration than idol worship someone! Gone are those days when ppl were angels, messiahs, next-to-god kind of figures whom ppl believed no matter what. I would not go into debate for the pros and cons are highly arguable. But in recent times I cannot think of putting someone to that position.
Thanks.

My apology for replying late yet again.
"Gone are those days when ppl were angels, messiahs, next-to-god kind of figures whom ppl believed no matter what". Yes, people are so much smarter and more knowledgeable these days. Maybe it's because we can share knowledge and life experiences with such ease that it could only be a good thing.
Anyway, people are not and will never be angels and messiahs, but their ideas and knowledge could be emulated by many if the ideas propounded are for the good of all. Referring back again to Adi Da, his ideas could be good but the man himself should not be idolised or worshiped.
Well, it's another week and you have a great weekend okay. Cheers.
