It seems that there are now some childrens films such as 101 Dalmatians,Pinnochio and Alice in Wonderland may well be given an 18 certificate!!..It seems that there is no foul language in them, but there are scenes where a cigarette is smoked!!!..so council leaders are being asked today to put restrictive ratings on those films which show a scene where someone has a smoke!!...Im wondering what they are going to invent next!!..and when you are 18..will you be wanting to watch Alice in wonderland??..what do you reckon to this??

Well this is a little crazy. You know when I was growing up this stuff did not influence us it was just things that happened in a movie, but our parents taught us right from wrong. I think all these people trying to blame TV for our kids actions need to wake up and remember the saying "To Spare the Rod is to Spoil the Child" Our kids these days do not understand this. They are a spoiled generation and running wildly. We as parents need to take control and stop letting so called "council leaders" try to govern our children. Your right I doubt unless your 18 with kids you will be watching Alice in the wonderland. However I love that show and I am 27, but I have a 6 and 7 year old.

It is indeed the world going totally mad,and as you have pointed out ,and im sure that you are quite right that the children of today are indeed getting very spoilt. No longer are the treats reserved for special occasions, they are treats that are every day occurences. When we were children,no way did we have a present unless it was a birthday or christmas, besides the fact my parents didnt have enough money to just go out and buy willy nilly!!..Im sure that the majority of parents are perfectly capable of choosing what their child should be able to and shouldnt be able to watch,I agree there are a number of parents who may not `care1 as long as their child is quiet, but im sure the majority do care, and if we deem sometihng as being wrong for our children to watch then ,they dont watch it,end of story!

Insanity, madness, and totally out of order.Who in hecks name has sat and thought all of this up,because who ever it is has nothing better to think of.Here we are with the world in turmoil and we are worrying abot Cruella having a ciggy in 101 Dalmations.Well I say lets get to grips with the real things that matter in life, and the trivial things such as this ,leave well alone.Who is going to want to see such films when they are 18 ,you tell me that,i cannot see anyone I know saying Oh im off to see Pinnochio tonight. It is just someone sitting somewhere dreaming up more and more daft ideas, let them get on with real life.

Yes it is commonplace to see smoking in the streets ,and children do not really think much about it.I think since the indoor smoking ban has been in place it has made the streets look worse!!every public house you pass by has a queue of people outside the door having a smoke, and whether the weather is fine or not, they are still there!!with umbrellas as well!!Im sure in my opinion that it would have been better to go back in time, and have a room..which they used to have in pubs..for smokers..there fore the people who didnt smoke were away from the smokers. But the government will do as they so wish to do ,and we arent going to stop them!

It is the stupidest thing I have heard today! They go too far sometimes, and unfortunately it is the children who miss out.

I never knew a Movie got an "18" Certificate for featuring smokers before...(trying to think on the various 15 cert and other ones I've seen in recent years!)Taking a Quick look at my DVD Shelf,I have "The Aviator" (12) "Kung Fu Hustle" (15) "Blade Runner" (15) and "Malcolm" (PG!) all of which feature smoking..And didn't "Edna" in "The Incredibles" (U) Smoke?!

How can they do that, when they allow U certificates to have swear words in them? That seems a bit backward to me, and people wonder why the world is as it is today!

imagine it: 2 men going rent a movie. they enter look for some movies and them one say "Lets rent Alice, it is a good movie!" ¬¬ this movies do not need a certificate for 18+ but need to get out of the world. some sites talk about scenes that if u dont look well u dont see but will be recorded in your mind just because u was looking to the TV at the right moment. somethings u see easy like people smoking but i think this isn't the worst.
