Hello, Goa happens to be the nearest tourist destination to my place. But after the
incident of scarlet Johansson, the teenager who was brutally murdered I am pretty
anxious to go on holiday to Goa. I don’t know a sort of hysteria, and sense of
insecurity to go. I feel so bad; Goa was one of my favorite holiday destinations.
And in fact the numbers of tourists who visit have reduced a lot; compared to
previous year says reports. I feel the government should take serious measures to
eradicate illegal activities. How do you feel is Goa safe for going on holiday?

The number of brutal murders that take place here in Port of Spain, where I live, everyday, makes this idea of staying away from dangerous places kind of numb.
I live in one.
If you feel badly about this then don't go.
There are a lot of places getting to be like that.

Hi ramya! I also heard of such an inhuman treatment meted out to the teenager from England. It is a barbaric incident and the Government should take stringent measures to avert recurrence of such incidents in future. I think Goa is still safe for going on holiday, but as a group!

I think it is more than the murder of an unfortunate girl that is keeping people away. The prices of airplane tickets, plus the extra costs at the airports as well as the price of gas and oil are the ones that determine that many are not going on holidays. So it is the cost of getting there, not that murder. If one goes there often, and one can afford it, one can still feel safe there. Now if there were many murders aimed at tourists, then that would be a reason not to go.

I hope this issue is not just for the sake of asking a question and earn money and you asked it purely for getting more about Goa. I was in Goa till end of Jan this year before moving over to Tokyo.
The incidents in Goa can not be viewed separately from those happening around the world. Compared to many tourist locations all over the world, Goa is still far safer and friendly location. Just compare own God's own country !! Is Goa a place dangerous than that place?
How many times you have visited Goa? Frankly tell me, so that I can tell you if you really require how to avoid unsafe and insecure travelling in Goa in particular.

I agree Goa has runied its image but at the same time the Scarlett murder case is a rare incident .... goans are nice people who dont want to hurt others ... if you are a tourist you should not worry .... just wear decent clothes and you are free to visit beaches and have fun .. so chill !
