what does the number next to my name mean?

in my profile page, it reads 'mkartic (15)'! what does the 15 mean? I first thought it was the number of discussions, but i have started more than 15 discussions!

That is the number of post that you have. For posting a discussion it does not go up, but I think it goes up when someone responds to it at least once. I don't know if it counts ever time someone responds.

The number next to the avatar means the number of post you have responded so far. Whenever you created or started a new discussion and the number of replies would'nt appear in your avatar but on the said discussion. However, if you would reply to the replies of your own discussions wouldn't count or added on the number next to the avatar. What is counted is the responses you just made with someone's discussions. But doesnt mean that it is the only way you can have earnings, for everytime you participated here in mylot, counts like posting photos, tagging, starting and responding to discussions. The number increases by one everytime you make a reponse. It also increases by one when the discussion you started get the second reponse.
