MTV remake

Ok, so I guess they are going to remake it. I don't know how I feel about this. I read that they are going to stick to the original script but there might be additional music. That bothers me. Also casting worries me a lot too. I think for people in the RHPS world, these characters are like family. It's different than a usual remake of a movie. The whole aspect of fans and the constant midnight showings and the audience participation give people an ownership that a lot of other movies don't have. From what I hear they are planning to release it Halloween 2009. What does everyone think about this?

I don't like the idea as it just won't be the same.
I know the actual stage show has changed actors all the time, some worked some didn't but the film is a different matter all together. As long as the additional music is done by Richard O'Brien, I wouldn't mind that. I'll be very surprised if it's any good whatsoever and it certainly won't replace the original.

There was no mention that the music would be Richard O'Brien's. I agree with you, I will be very suprised if it is any good at all.

Errr! This frustrates me to no end! First of all, I usually don't like remakes. Most, in my opinion are crap. But this beats all! WHAT!? Remake Rocky Horror! What are they thinking! Is nothing sacred?

I personally think that it's not the best idea to remake it. Nothing will top the original, and nothing will give me the same joy that the original does.
