I cooked fried rice when i was 12. I forgot to put off the stove and burnt the whole dish. How was your experience with your first cooking. I believe some or the other mishaps do happen when u cook first time, like putting extra salt or forgetting spilling over the boiling milk. share your greatest mishaps as well

I don't remember my first cooking. But from childhood only i stated my mom to help in cooking. So, I am expert in helping rather than cooking. I make all item ready to cook like boiling vegetables, cutting onions etc. But if no one is at home then i prepare Maggie, omelet, and i boil eggs also

I honestly don't remember the first time i cooked, its been so long ago. we used to help my mom cook alot. i started taking home economics in school when i was 13. I took home ec every year after that. So I probably was around 10 or so when I was helping my mom in the kitchen and that sparked my love of cooking, so i started taking home ec. i honestly can't think of any mishaps. i've been cooking noodles and boiled them over a few times.

I dont even know it's been so long. I remeber one of my early cooking ventures, I was making cocoa and when I was heating the milk it boiled over. I dont know how old I was when I was performing that task. needless to say I learned to keep the milk on lower heat and keep an eye on it while heating it for cocoa. I had to scrub the pan too, when I had that incident so I really didnt want to repeat it.

I could say I start cooking by age 8 but it was just hotdogs and other cold cuts and I have an adult supervising me. The first real food I cooked alone was at age 9 when I cooked a rice porridge for myself when I got home from school very hungry. Now, the first food I cooked for other people was at age 11, when my cousin (who was my sister's nanny) got so sick and it was just the two of us home. I had no choice but to cook food for her. I remember the only dish I can come up was burger patties, but we didn't have ground pork, so I chopped up the pork we had. I forgot why was I stuck at home, but anyway, when I was about to fry the patties, I realized we didn't have cooking oil! Groceries were still far from our place that time and I don't have any money to buy some from the nearby small store. So what I did was get all the pork fat from the remaining pork, and allowed it to excrete oil. I was able to feed my sick cousin, and after that, they had let me cook foods.
I am now 28 years old, and is the main cook in the house now that it's just us family. No need for a maid or other people living with us to do chores. I got no complaints, it has made me experiment in the kitchen, and although I am not a great cook, I am happy that my their tummies are full and satisfied when they leave the dining area.

When i was 24, i began to cooked because i rent a room. I can't make good dishes but i have a good appetite and i can eat up all i cooked. I cooked for 3 years and i really gain weight. But it is not economical because i cooked only for myself, i have to buy more vegetable than i could consume.

I wish I could say I remembered the first time I cooked. I can't. When I was about 9 or 10 my older sister was in the hospital and my mother went to stay with her. My Dad was a terrific cook, but he was a farmer and it was harvest season so he spent all the daylight hours in the field. I was left to cook 3 meals a day for my Dad, brother and I. I had also signed up to take a pumpkin pie to the school Halloween carnival. Of course I thought my Mother would bake it when I signed up.
Neither one of my parents cooked from a written recipe, but my Dad sat down and wrote out a recipe for pie crust and pumpkin pie and then went to the field. I have to say the pies turned out great. I made one for school and one for us. My teacher couldn't believe that I had baked the pie myself!
