He didn't say why he left but when he said that he had to use the bathroom someone should have listened to him. They should have made sure that he was going to the bathroom. How did this young man end up at the parking lot of Hooters. Read the article and tell me what you think may have been on this little guys mind. It was definitely more than the bathroom.

Eight violation since 2006 seems to be a lot and cause for concern as I see it. The child had to be gone quit a while to get as far as he did. 5 year olds can be quit savvy when it come to going where they want. If I were a parent with a child there I would be very concerned. I would like to know hat the violations were that the owner got since 2006. I would sure be having second thought about leave a child of mine there.

This article caught my eye and I had to see what others thought about it. It took a very kine little guy to get missing and none of the adults noticed that he was gone. The police brought him back to the daycare. The violations mean nothing when there are plenty of parents that need daycare. Had the little boy go seriously injured then that would have been something different. Thanks for your view.

The trouble with these cases is that there is so much more to them then we hear over the news. I agree something like this shouldn't be possible.
Even if a child does manage to slip out, you should start missing him or her in a certain amount of time. When the children in my daycare go to the bathroom (they are toddlers) the bathroom is adjoined to the classroom so I can look into it every few minutes and make sure they are not playing with water or going anywhere.
With the older children the bathroom is about 2 doors away and the only way they can get out is by passing another classroom (where there is supervision).
Also, I have gotten myself used to counting my children frequently ever since my last job where I picked up children from different schools. When walking them back to the daycare it is crucial to have your eye on all of them and keep count.
I think it's a good an easy way of keeping track of the children which anyone can do.
