you know my friendthe thing is whenever a person will buy a computer he will be spending the money and buy a new computer to work on it. Everyone who's buying a computer has some work on it and that is the reason they are buying a computer. Now when I came spending so much money on it and then I come to know that my computer is not performing up to the mark it should because of the operating system I've installed in that that is the latest Microsoft operating system than it will definitely irritate a person. If I am investing money I definitely want the optimum performance from the hardware I'd have installed on the computer. The star uses most of the resource of my computer for its own purpose. Only the looks of an operating system is not the sole purpose of buying a computer. If you want to walk on it when we need the whole resources to function for the thing which I'm doing and if at that time my computer slows down because of the operating system than definitely this is something which is not acceptable. But this doesn't happen with the previous version of Windows Microsoft operating system. This is the reason why Windows XP is still the most preferred operating system. It has the looks which can create interest in any user but still it has the stability which is required from a system to work on it. If these are the qualities which are provided with the latest version of the windows than I am sure that would have been a success because a lot of the users are not is looking for good looks apart from good performance. But definitely known wants looks by compromising performance.

I hate Vista. I'm sticking with XP.
I don't like how with newer versions of these operating systems people designing them think consumers are getting dumber and dumber. They just keep giving you less options on things that you can do and make more choices for you. And I am not someone who enjoys that.
There was a funny joke video going around on the net about Vista being a mix of CE, ME, and NT (CEMENT). It was pretty good at explaining why Vista kind of sucks.

I'd recommend Windows XP for now. It's been out for quite a while and some of the important bugs have been addressed such as IE exploits. Although more will be discovered, it is at least more stable than Vista and still has very good support for software. Vista is still pretty new. More bugs will appear in time. Feature-wise, Vista has more functionality than XP based from what I've experienced although again, the support is still mainly for XP.
Another obstacle I find with Vista is its system requirements. We aren't rich and my PC's hardware isn't up to snuff in making Vista even work. It takes an upper midstream hardware spec to make it run effectively and use all the features especially the graphics. Windows XP still is low-end PC friendly.

ok i suggest you stick with xp because some softwre is not compatible for vista also vista has many bugs maby in a year microsoft will do something about thouse also vista is only for its style not for the anything else. and if you want vista just for its syle you can get a vista theme for xp no one will know the diffrence.

Hello, I am using windows Xp also. My mom has a toshiba newer laptop model and it comes with a Vista Home basic software but unfortunately, Vista doesn't support all the yahoo games which my mother really loves. I think Vista is not yet stable compared to Windows Xp. And when you install Vista in your computer it takes a lot of memory and hard disk space to use. So I will be sticking to my XP. And also, I successfully installed windows xp in my mom's laptop with all the drivers working properly.

Hi, I'm currently using XP and I have lots of friends that are using Vista. And they say that it is slow compared to XP, and has lots of unecessary features. Well I still like XP over vista because first of the performance speed and second, compatibility issues. And as far as I know Vista isn't really that stable up to until now..

Honestly, I don't see a ton of difference with Vista, except it's so new it's still got some bugs..
My hubby downloaded Vista updates the other week and it made his world of warcraft quit running. We had to spend a full saturday re-downloading the program and patching it. Oh, before that we had to repair Vista using the boot disk because it was missing a boot file after the update...
******sigh******
Yeah, if I had to pick, I'd choose tried and true XP
