Why people commit suicide?

I had a friend that killed himself when he was a teen. He's been gone for 10 years now and I still ask why. He didn't have a very hard life and he always seemed happy. the week before he did it, He had asked out like 6 different girls and all declined him. We all thought that maybe it was our fault and if one of us said yes, he'd still be here. I know usually depression plays a big roll in wanting to kill yourself. you feel as though no one cares about you or understands you. You feel like you cant talk to anyone so why bother living. My dad's friend killed himself as he had nothing going for him, he had no family, he lived at his workplace, he wasn't making much money and never had food. My dad found his body! As for my friend? Well I still don't understand why he did it. He wasn't depressed and if he was he hid it well and it wasn't very major (teenager stuff usually isn't). He could have gotten over it and lived a wonderful life. Anytime I see someone down or someone who says they just want to die, I try to talk to them and be an ear to listen. Life throws you curve balls and you have to figure out how to catch them and throw them back, not just stand there and let it hit you.

I suppose, at that very moment a person decides not to live, he or she must have felt that there's no way out of the problem or unhappiness. And it's so sad , because if the person could get through that moment, things might change. Some people are lost inside a problem, and their minds are fixed with one solution, and if that solution is not granted to them, they just want to end it all. Like my friend's daughter, who wanted to die because the boyfriend wanted a breakup. To her, the solution is him coming back - no other options. She closed her mind to everything else. It's very tragic - we feel so helpless, not able to doing anything!

they do it because they want to get away with their problems, or they are so depress. it is not good to make any decisions when you are too sad or too happy.. let things cool down a bit and then decide. sometimes it is a desperate measure =/

It's a shame that people allow themselves to get so depressed that they feel they can't go on. Many act the same as usual right up to the last minute, never letting anyone know they are depressed. That's why you hear so many family members say, "I had no idea he would do something like this." It's so sad.

honestly i think its because of the way people treated them and how they made them feel like its unecessary to tell sum1 if there ugly or fat or stupid when not needed and people always has to pick on others people are just wrong and thats the main reasons....

In my opinion the commiters couldn't find any other way except this path to face life. They're very much mentally depressed, there is a ionic saying in English that "Failures are the success stones". I think committers have to recall this one success is the burning desire to achieve it, and we don't need to wait for the opportunities to overlap, we need search for those opportunities.

A guy that I went to school with Killed himself a few days ago also. Form what I heard it was about his girlfriend also. I do think depression has a lot to do with it but sometimes I wonder if it is a revenge of some sort, like "they hurt me so i will hurt them more." I always feel for the family's because sometimes there are no sign it just happens.
