My oldest son did until he was about 4. My middle son didn't he went from crib to his own bed. Now my little girl who is almost 4 sleeps in the bed with me. In just a few weeks she is going to have her very own room.
I wanted to know did your children sleep in the bed with you? How old where they when they started to sleep in their own bed?

Hello momma.... since we don't have any kids, I'll talk about myself and my brothers. I don't know if my brothers ever slept with my parents although I would imagine they did for a time and even off and on for a time. As for me, I slept just about anywhere till I was 7 then we moved and I finally got my own room and bed. Before that, I slept with either one of my brothers or my with my parents or at the foot of their bed on a cot or with my grandparents since they lived with us or in the crib in their room. lol I had quite a variety as a kid waaaaay back then. lol

We normally did not allow our kids to sleep with us. Unless they were sick or something. One time me and my youngest were sick - he was about 4 or so - so we slept in the same bed to make it easier. It was FOREVER getting him into his own bed again, and he was not very good at sharing the bed!

Yes, momma, I'm guilty as charged. My kids were always climbing into bed with me. I tried to have them start the night out in their own rooms, but I allow them to come lay with me if they get scared. I know soon enough they will have no interest in laying with mommy, so I don't think it's a big deal right now. My daughter probably started sleeping in her own big girl bed when she was 2 1/2.

I never allowed my children to sleep in bed wtih me. As infants that is entirely too dangerous for my taste and once they are older they need to be in their own bed anyways. My daughter slept in her bassinet til about 4 months and then her crib til 10 months. After that she has slept in her toddler bed in her own room for a year and a half. Then she got her own twin bed when the baby sister came along and needed the mattress for her crib. Unless they are sick or have a nightmare they sleep in their own beds in their own rooms.

Our children all used to hop in and out of our bed..and given that we had three children and they were all small it sometimes was a very cramped bed!!but lol we never worried about it,we just used to let them tuck in,and when they got uncomfortable then they would take off back to there own beds!I sometimes felt that they got comfort from knowing that our bed wasnt out of bounds to them, and the feeling that they could hop in if they wanted was a comforting feeling,if we had banned them from our bed altogehter then they may have felt excluded.

With our second and youngest....yes both still sleep with us in bed.The middle,a boy turning 6 doesn't want to sleep alone in the room.So we still need some more convincing to make him sleep at the other room. The youngest...i don't have an idea-she still on bottled milk.Maybe once she saw the big brother sleep at the other room maybe she would like to have her own bed as well.Right now we're all together in one big bed.

My oldest kids did not because their father would not allow it. My 2yr old sleeps with me since the day she was born. She does have a toddler bed and now starts out in there but always ends up in bed with me before morning. I do not think it is hurting anything!

My children always slept in bed with us. Whenthe were little they would crawl in in the middle of the night. I always put them i their own beds. We moved back and forth a lot and ometimes they had to seep with us so it eas hard to say no wen we were at home. zzmy son wasnt badbut my daughter fought some kind of war every night. She would kick and punch. My husband left when she was in kindergarten without warning. took all the money and I ended up sleeping withher in her bed i my dads basement. We have a mobil home now and she still likes to come in with me (she is 15 now) but it doesnt last long as she says I snore too much LOL. So good luck. I had strage circumstances so yours should start sleepin in their own beds soon.

I used to let my daughter sleep with us also when she was younger. She just would not sleep in her own bed for nothing. I would let her sleep with us sometimes because she was scared and just would not stop crying. she finally grew out of that though. She started sleeping in her own bed when she was 3 or 4 years old also.

My little boy sleeps with us. He does not like to sleep in his own bed so we just let him sleep over. My hubby and I likes having him around too so there is really no problem in that area. Anyway, he will probably get tired of sleeping with mom and dad soon so we try to enjoy the company while it lasts.

Our kids never slept in the bed with us. Before we had kids I knew a couple that couldn't get their son out of their bed and he was 7. I didn't want to have kids sleeping in our bed that long. So they never slept with us. the first 2 or 3 months they slept in a bassinet till they started sleeping through the night. Then once they were sleeping through the night, or atleast for more than 2 or 3 hours then I moved them to a crib in their own room. The only time they have slept with us is once or twice when they were sick.

My daughter and I sleep together. Now she's 6 but she's still sleeping with me.I don't know if she would be that like with your kids. She always wants me to be by her side everytime she wakes up.She's starting to cry if she would wake up and not seeing me beside her.Maybe that's what kids are, they have different view of sleeping in their own room or sleep with their parents.

My daughter is almost 2 and yet she always sleep with me or to us with her father. In the morning when she was still a baby i put her in the crib for me to work inside the house but at night she always sleep with us.In the philippines i guess its like that .When my sister was still young she always sleep with my mother until she was graduated to elementary.now she sleep in her own bed because she is already high school student. And i intend to do the same because i believe it makes me closer to my daughter.

My daughter is 6 weeks old today, and I had my wife put her in the nursery to sleep when she was 2 weeks old. Afterall, that is what we made the thing for.
I don't plan on letting my daughter sleep in our bed except on occasion. Maybe a couple times a month when she wants to crawl in bed and watch TV with us. The biggest reason I have decided to go this route is because of my brother and his 3-year-old. Only within the last month or two have they gotten her to sleep in her own room. It became so bad with her crying to sleep in their bed that they came decided to at least move her bed in their room so she could sleep on it.
That only lasted a couple of nights and then she was back in their bed. Finally, he decided to take her bed and force her to sleep in her own room. After 3 nights of constant screaming and crying, she went to sleep without problems.
I don't want to have the same issue, so I don't plan on letting my daughter sleep in there too often.
