I can watch ANY other so called horror movie, without an issue. But for some reason this movie makes my hair stand on end.

I hate that movie, it is so creepy! I saw parts of it when I was younger and that whole spinning head thing and creepy voice and stuff, euww, I can not stand it. I will not watch it, it's just as creepy now to me as it was when it was new.

Don't forget about the "Spider Walk".
The scene they left out of the release where she walks down stairs on all fours, upside down with her head right-side up...
OMG! talk about creepy !

Not too bad with Exorcist just interested in it being based on a factual experience. The one that has haunted me is Omen. Even Omen 2 is ok and I can watch that again but young Damien gives me the creeps. It has even gone so far that I don't like it if somebody is called Damien. Lucky this has not happened to me much.

I have no worries with Damien or Rosemary's Baby.
Only The Exocist.
I think that movie traumatized me as a kid.

Nah. It didn't scare or haunt me. I thought it was done really well. I was focusing more on the cinematography, the script, and the acting. I tend to do that when I'm watching a film and I sometimes forget to just sit back and enjoy it. I like the thinking aspect of this movie. Very few horror films have that quality. Except for Japanese horror films. All of theirs has something to do with human nature and our way of thinking.

I don't know if you remember but a few years ago they rereleased the Exorcist in theaters for like a week or two. The original not the remakes or any sequels. I was one of the few rare people in the world that had not seen the Exorcist. So I packed up and headed about a half hour away to the theater that was playing it. For being over 20 years old that movie was still rather freaky. A little scary but mostly just screwed up crazy. I enjoyed the experience and thought it was well worth it.

Glad you were able to watch it.
I think everyone should be shown this movie. When it was first released, people would walk out of the theatres vomiting.
Many would faint, this movie really shocked alot of people back in the day.

I didn't watch horror movies when I was young, but as I got older I started watching and realized a lot of them are pretty good. Until I saw Exorcist. Just thinking about the head spinning and her spitting out green vomit makes me never want to see that movie again.

That's what you get for not prepping yourself. lol just kidding. Even with prep, a novice horror viewer should never see this until later.
For me, I think that was like the 2nd horror movie I saw.
I was not ready and I fell victim.
Mom told me not to watch it, did I listen ... nope.
Did I pay.. yep.
Tough love, she wouldn't let me come in her room.
All she said was "I told ya not to watch it, that's what you get. Now go back to bed."

Hi friends... I watched the movie The Exorcist when I was a kid. I still remembet this movie gave me a chill in my spine. In fact, I was unable to wath that movie completely then.
A few years ago, I rent the DVD of this movie again hoping to get the same kind of feelings then.To create the environment, I choose mid night to watch it. I turned off all the lights and watched it alone.
But alas! After so many years have been passed, I couldn't find it scary at all!
This movie came out to be really boring and I found the scariest part of this movie are the funniest.
Do the horror flicks are not meant for the elders?

I never saw it as a comedy. I was too busy hiding my eyes.
