Birhtday party ideas

I have a son who is having a birthday soon and I am looking for neat ideas for a theme or activites for his party. Anybody have any???

Snap! I am having the same problem but I still have a bit of time to think about it, January, when my son will be 8. My kids, however, did go to a birthday party when the parents took all the kids off to a huge field and they played football, catch, rounders and other sports. My kids thought it was great. Or how about do the party on the beach? The cinema? The problem with my son's birthday is that it is in winter!!

Those are great ideas! Thanks... My birthday is in January as well. When I was younger my family took us to a hotel so we could swim. And I don't know where you live. but if you get snow my family once took me and my friends sledding. It was a blast. Good luck.

I live in England and all we get is bloody rain LOL. Sleding sounds fantastic though, how cool! I have to be careful because we are a one parent family and I also have his 2 younger siblings to contend with!! Not mention how much something will cost me! What date in January is yours?
