My computer may be about to self destruct!!

I have recently been trying to learn a bit more about computers, I figured that I spend so much time on one I may as well study them and how to use them properly. Who knows, maybe when the children are in school I can get a job in computers LOL. So I found some online courses to teach me and I have been reading them and learning to do things and one of them was to change the sounds that my computer makes for certain things. So, I had a fiddle with it. Now, every so often and at certain times, my computer emits a beeping noise and it sounds like it is going to blow!! I have not yet found the reasons for this but figure it must me down to me as surely my computer will not blow up............ WILL IT? Has your computer ever made strange noises that you cannot find the reason for? Have you ever messed about with your computer and made a mess of things on it?

If it happened after adjustments on the software part, you can always hit the "Default" button or choose the default option. The windows one would be in Control PanelSounds & Audio DevicesSounds. Sometimes if you've accidentally deleted the windows sound file or changed it to another warning tone - thus the noises.

Thanx I think it is when I changed the warning tone to something else so I will go back and see what I did!

hi gemini rose yes and i found out I had accidently programmed the weird noise so learned to unprogram it. once I accidently deleted a whole bunch of files in my outlook express as I had put them under delete without knowing it and later hit the delete button. i felt like such a fool as I had to enlist my computer nerd son to help me dig my outlook express files out of the garbage and return them to where they belonged.I then learned all about what to do in outlook express and what not to do.myson called me the great deleter. lol. I have learned more about my computer by myself just messing around but no more major catastrophes at all.

I've learned long ago not to mess with things on my computer that I don't have complete knowledge of. I am very good on computers, and know quite a bit about them, but there are still certain areas of my computer I will not touch, because the last time I did so, I nearly killed the poor thing.

Hello gemini hope you are doing well. As such i haven't had any problem with my computer except for the virus. I could not format the computer because my brother in law said not to do so, eee problem of joint family. Now i have installed a new anti virus, so better off to use. Take care and blessings and have a great weekend

Yes it is always a good idea to make sure that there is an anti virus installed on your computer!
