We went to McDonalds today.

The person who took our order left us waiting for several minutes for our cups. Usually, they hand them to us as soon as we've ordered. Finally, we got them, and had to wait even longer for our food. The restaurant was almost empty, except for a few people who had already gotten their orders. Then, we ordered dessert. Mom ordered ice cream, and Dad and my sister each got apple pies. They gave Mom her ice cream first. While she waited for the pies, which were already made and in a warmer. All they had to do was grab the pies, hand them to Mom, and then fix the ice cream. Instead, she waited several minutes for him to take another order, with ice cream melting all over her hand. I had ordered a milkshake. It was awful! It didn't even taste like chocolate. It was grayish-looking, and was the consistency of water. We all agreed that next time we want to eat out, we will go for pizza.

yeh they used to do that here too but I think they are trying to keep up with Hungry Jacks, they make all theirs as ordered, and I think Maccas may have had a few complaints about food wastege when they used to chuck them out when they were sitting there too long...

I would call and complain. There was no reason for the bad service. I am sure they would probably make things right with you. Some people just don't have any common sense.

YECH!!! What an awful experience. The McDonalds here in Guelph is really good, my only complaint being that the drie through takes way too long. On Sunday nights when the busses do' run late I take a taxi home, and go through McDonald drive through. Last week I waited the for $5 extra dollars (when I'm in a taxi I measure time in dollars and cents LOL). The food was good, but the wait stank!

Hi Bd200789! Oh that is poor quality service they have out there at that McDonald's branch! I don't have any experience of having been served poorly at McDonalds in our local branch. All of the crew and manager are on their toes all the time and if there are a lot of people they do manage very well. Sorry to hear of that bad experience you had there. I, too will avoid eating there if that will be the case.
Take care and God Bless!

I am sorry to hear about the poor service that you received at McDonalds today. I think that person should be talked to about the poor service that was provided to you and your family. McDonalds hires a lot of young people, who may or may not care about quality service and just want a paycheck. I would not go there again if that was done to me or my family. McDonalds is a fast food restaurant, not a slow food or poor quality food restaurant. I have not had any bad experiences yet with McDonalds.

bd200789 hi I have had it myself with McDonalds, the food is cold, and some of it tastes awful, and the service
is unbelieably slow. I now go to Burger King all the time
as the service is good, the food is good and hot, and
the wait people are always smiling and good natured, just
'such a difference. McDonalds makes the worst chocolate shakes known to man

It sounds as if you had rather slack staff at your local Macca's on that particular occasion, Bd. I've found they are only as good as their management - sometimes you get excellent service, with nice, hot food and clean tables, whereas in other establishments the staff are sullen and the tables dirty and unpleasant. It's a shame your experience was so pathetic.

Sorry it was so bad for you. The only time we go there is for my two year old granddaughter. We go through the drive-thru and she gets the nugget meal. We don't eat there. My two boys when they were younger worked at a McDonald's and the stories they would tell me would curl you hair!! We inspect everything now and taste it all.
Go for Pizza. Good idea!!

Eeek, that sounds bad. :[ I always thought that milkshakes and ice cream at McDonalds weren't so bad...it was mostly the aftertaste of the hamburgers that annoyed me. I remember one time when our school arranged a camping trip, we were to eat at McDonalds on the way there. While I was waiting in line, I saw a huge bundle of stale bread buns lying out in the sun, with flies buzzing all around them. After that scene, I had second thoughts about ordering at McDonalds.

That surely sounds like pretty bad customer service, but you should try there one more time. It might've just been a very bad day for them and their workers. If the service is the same a second time, then yeah, they don't deserve your money, but if they give you good service the next time, then you should be able to forgive them and if so, use them again. As for the ice cream ordeal, even though it's polite to wait until everyone gets their dessert or food, your mom should know that the ice cream would melt; thus, she should've eaten it first. It's only a matter of scientific means here, and if it started to melt, she should've just started on it. The milkshake tasting bad is another case in general though, since it looks like they not only made you wait but gave you bad drinks as well.

We usually get our cups as soon as they take our order also. I have noticed that McDonalds and alot of other restaurants have went downhill thse days. they usually have alot of young people working in there and there is very little supervision for them too. They do not know how to keep the business running smoothly alot of times. We have stopped going to alot of restaurants because of that. The food is nasty and the service is very bad.

That's really awful service you got. Most McDonalds are fast and have everything efficient. Apperently you had a horrible time. You could report them about the service. It may help for the next time people go to that McDonalds. Sometimes service is lazy or just simply not there. You all paid for the food, the least they could do is their job. Sometimes I think people only do things for the money.

What horrible service. I hate it when the service lack the energy and effort to service a customer. They need to know that they are not meeting the customer expectations.
I would have told the person that I need my pei now and not after this order.
They need to learn how to prioritize

Today's service is horrible.
Most people that work in these places think the world owes them something and they don't make enough money to merit hard work. I rarely go to fast food restaurants because of the horrible service.
It does vary by city though. In the town I live in, you always wait at least 15-20 minutes for your food. But, if you go 20 minutes north, the service is much better.

Agh, I am so sick of McDonald's. A lot of the times when I go, it takes a while for out food. It's mainly becaus they hire young students, like 14-16, who can't get the job done! (Not saying everyone is like that.) Also, they're sanitary measures have been lacking. I found a hair in my wrap before, agh, so gross. Now if I do eat there I take apart my food and do a thorough examination.
Just stick to pizza. =]
