This is a cute overload, but this really happened to me today. There is a colony of wild rabbits living in our backyard, and we are careful to leave them alone, as they tend to not bother us. (They seem to intuitively know to stay out of our vegetable garden, excepting for one radish, grrr...)
One of our dogs was focused on a spot in the ground today, and when I went to see what she was fussing over, it was a baby bunny!! (before you get on my case, I KNOW that bunnies and rabbits are a different species, but I am calling it a bunny here. So there.) I ushered the dog away to help the scared bunny. I scooped the baby into my hands to make it safer...I was intending to carry it to a known nest, but the baby jumped away before I had the chance.
I don't want to get flack for touching/holding a wild bunny. I had to get it away from my dog so it wouldn't die of fright. It was such a soft, quiet little creature. :) I always make sure my dogs stay clear of rabbit holes.

Frankly, I was surprised it allowed me to pick it up, too. I didn't hold him for very long, because I was trying to keep it close to me (bunnies love to cling to shoulders, you probably know) but it jumped away within 30 seconds. It probably only let me pick it up because it was holding completely still to not provoke my dog.
And our dog wasn't threatening the bunny, as she loves other animals, but she is also unaware of her size ratio to smaller animals sometimes. =P
