no, not really. without glasses, i have to squint to be able to see whatever is in front of me. i've been wearing prescriptive glasses since i was in my sophomore year in highschool. everytime i go outside, i wear contact lenses. but if i'm staying at home, i just wear my glasses.
and without these, i'm blind as a bat.

I have far-sighted Astigmatism, and my boyfriend has near-sighted Astigmatism. Our children will definately have Astigmatism, but the question is which kind of Astigmatism will they have?

My eyes are stil quite good. I have not yet started using glasses, and I think i may still be off the reading glasses for along while.

Hi my friend,
I can read the computer screen without my glasses, but it's not very clear.
When I get up in the morning, I turn my computer right on and try to focus on the screen without taking the time out to clean my glasses and put them on. I fiddle like this for about an hour until I give up and get them out. lol
Happy MyLogging,
Char

I can read without glasses though I am reaching (or actually have reached) the age where in dim light I cannot see print that is too small. I am, however, holding off on the reading glasses because I can read all day at work without glasses -- both print and computer screen -- therefore, I am not anxious to rush into reading glasses. This is especially true because then you end up having to take them off when not reading and then put them back on again, or slide them down your nose to look over them.

I wear my glasses most of the time anyway so I will wear them for reading, except in two circumstances. I love to read in the bath and bed. In the bath I cannot wear them as they steam up and in bed I like to lie down on my side and read. I am finding it harder to read without them though which is a shame, and I will get a headache if I do it for any length of time. I try not to read for long in the bath now, and in bed I tend to sit up as long as possible while wearing them. When I lie down though, if I still want to read I take them off. Only problem I have is when I fall asleep sitting up reading and then I end up laying down in the night wearing my glasses! I am surprised they are still in one piece to be honest.
If on the pc though, I have no option but to wear them.

I can't read without my glasses. It gets all blurry if I try. What I do now is get books that have the big letters than I do fine. I am just sooo happy that publishers started to print books with big letters.

I like reading the large print books at the library too. Sometimes I cannot help but chuckle to myself because when I was younger and first saw the large print books at the library I remember asking the librarian if they were limited to patrons with vision disabilities or whether anyone could check them out. Back then my inquiry was inspired by the fact that a book I wanted was checked out already in regular print but was on the shelves in large print so I wondered if I could check it out. Now I am happy when I see that a book I am interested in comes in large print because I check that out first. LOL

It is really hard for me to read without my glasses, when I am at a computer or when I am reading a book without my glasses I have to put my face up really close to my computer or hold the book really close to my face. Its really fuzzy and blurry for me.
