Cetaphil is a facial cleanser. Not an astringent at all. I think you can even use it without using water, you just let it dry or something. I've used it a few times before.

Hi bombshell, I envy your boss still looking young and impressive though she is already in the age of 70 years old. I know some people who are born to have good natural skin even they don't take much skin cake.
Most of the time I wash my face with filter water after getting up in the morning. I then apply some lotion to keep it away from getting dry. While taking shower in the evening I would then wash my face with face cleanser. I feel like only cleanser could totally wash away the dirt and oil of the skin of my face. Later on I would apply some night cream on it and having some massaging.
I believe to use soap or cleanser too often when washing face would definitely make the skin of our face dry and to have wrinkly easily.
posting and take care.

Hi bombshell, I had received the best response 9 days back, I would still like to express my delayed gratitude here for selecting mine as the best one, though it is a bit late.
This is a nice topic indeed, after reading the story I realize that, the lesser we use soap or cleanser daily the better and healthier the skin we have. That is why your boss still looks young and with nice complexion even at the 70 yrs old. I think I would better cut down the using of cleanser daily. Besides I still could save some money.
posting and cheers.

Its unbelievable, soaps are used to remove dirt oil from our face. Without any soap or any natural material its impossible to do that, i think. I use a skin care soap prescribed by doctor. It is Neko soap, its little expensive. So i use only for face wash

I usually use soap every time I wash my face. I know it cannot be totally good to do that but I love to feel and smell fresh. I use Noxzema to wash my face sometimes also. There have been a few times that I have wiped my face with just a wet wash cloth but not very often. I think soap dries our skin out but it is also nice to wash your face with a cleanser too.

I use soap or shower gel... but I only use dove if it's soap, because it really doesn't soak the skin, doesn't make it dry..it's actually very smooth but I still apply some nivea visage after washing ,to give it a better aspect..
I forgot to mention that I use soap or gel because that is how I get my make-up off,I rarely use make-up cleaner, and yes i know it's bad but I usually go to sleep with the make-up on:D
But every time I feel tired or my face looks bad from the lack of sleep,if I use nivea it looks good again

I mostly use face wash from Aveda. Sometimes I use a glycerin soap if I forget to bring my face wash in. I will also use a face scrub about twice a week. I think not using the same thing all the time gives better results too.
I have always found Nivea to be a real pore clogger. If I use it to remove makeup, I always wash my face well to get off the greasiness.

Hi bombshell,
wow! really? how long she's been doing that? Anyway, my former boss' mom was 80 years old and when she came over in the office, we can tell that she has a nicest face compared to anyone of us there..LOL
She is a vegetarian and will not touch her face using her hands, she has always a handkerchief with her, but I know she is using soap or facial wash!
But, we can't believe she was 80, she walks straight and was wearing shorts with still a presentable legs! Super!

Speaking of older ones still looking young, I just suddenly remembered Vilma Santos. One of my friends told me her secret was that she would wash her face with warm water first to open the pores. Then after applying some cleanser or whatever she applies on her face, she rinses it off with cold water to close the pores. I have also heard Dra. Vicki Belo advise this on tv during one of those morning talk shows. Apparently this is very good for the skin.
Maricel Soriano's point is noteworthy too. My friend told me Maricel's ex-husband, Edu Manzano, once said in an interview about Maricel that she never ever ever goes to bed without completing her cleanse-apply cream-etc routine no matter how tired she is. Edu said what she had religiously followed as a beauty regimen for many years really did pay off now that she's getting older. Very disciplined woman.

Is Facial Foam considered as Soap?
I am currently using Facial Foam from Nivea and Facial Scrub from Vichy. I think it's important to wash the face clean before applying any Moisturizer or toner.
I have seen some old people with good skin too and they say the secret behind it is eating Bird Nests.

Bird's nest soup is a delicacy in Chinese cuisine. It's actually made of swifts' saliva. The edible bird's nests are among the most expensive animal products consumed by humans.
It's usually boiled with rock sugar. It tastes nice but is expensive.

My skin is oily and I can't use soap with my face. My doctor suggested that I only use soap-free cleanser. It is a bit expensive for me but my wife is the one who also remind me to wash my face with cleanser. Actually, that cleanser is mostly suggested by pedias for bathing babies. My face looks like a baby now. KEEP SMILING = NEIL

I don't use soap to wash my face for it dries it out. I use a special cleanse from Avon and clean it with that really good rinse it then put the astrigent on after woulds. I have heard of ponds and nivea cream and have been told they work good.
I like to try different things til I am happy with something that works. So far the Avon cleanser is working good does the job well.

I personally don't use soap but I think soap is necessary if you have an oily skin. Soap is an excellent cleanser as it removes dirt from the pores and keeps your facial skin free from germs.
