Okay we are just about at the end of July, over half the year has gone. I was wondering if any of you here have achieved any of your goals that you set for yourself at the start of the year? If yes, please share your achievements. Or did you not set any goals for yourself this year.
I have not achieved most of my goals this year, as I have not had much time to do things for myself looking after new bubs and my other 2 kids. Goals that I set this year:
* learn the guitar- I have started this goal, which I am proud of.
* learn how to surf - too cold to start yet, summertime I will start
* join a cycling club - have had no time to do
* get back to my original weight before I had bubs- I have now achieved this goal after 4 months after bubs was born, I am back to my goal weight.
* clear off some of my debts- not done yet but working on doing this soon.
Look forward to reading your goals and successes so far this year.

Great goals that you have set yourself. I think Mylot is a great site for helping you improve your english. You could also try reading review sites such as www.reviewstream.com or www.helium.com you could look at other peoples writing techniques. What country are you from? I am from Australia.

I do not set any goals as such, therefore, I also did not set any goals. Whatever task comes in front of me or whatever problem comes, I try my best to sort it out, with the possible means and to the best of my efforts. Good to know that you could achieve some of your goals and I think you setting a goals keeps you going and motivated to achieve those targets. Keep it up.

I was targeting to come up with more participants in my safety training programs. I have just started last year and was hoping that there will be more programs this year. I feel really blessed that my goal was even surpassed by what is happening. I have trainings every week and has even conducted trainings outside our city. It is really great to have helped and taught so many people already. But despite this, I will continue and reach for much higher goals.

The goals that I set for myself this year were quite a few, the first one was to clear debts and find ways of cutting down spending so that there was more to save. I have achieved this, the other was to start writing to see if I had any talent in me, I have also done that and have just started to write short stories, I have just finished my first one. I am in the process of tidying it up now.
Other goals were to read more, done and to start to find ways of earning money from home, this is also now slowly working out, slowly being the operative word. I do not get that much time to do all these things that I want to do!!

Hey there,
Actually i dont make any such goals. My life and my nature of work is very unpredictable. I got to travel when i have not planned anything. My daily schedule changes every now and then so its difficult to plan something beforehand.
Well the only thing i can say is i decided to continue my higher studies and iam doing that now. IAm very happy for it.
Secondly i wanted to get back in shape. I was quite fit before and thankfully i have started exersixing again.
I wish u and all of here good luck for getting their goal.
Cheers,
Tutul

Hi Tutul, sounds like you have a pretty spontaneous life, mine is quite the opposite with three kids, most of my life is planned.
Congrats on achieving your goals and continuing your higher studies and getting back into shape, they are great goals.

Thanks Bruce, you have just under half year to achieve the remaining 70% of your goals. I am sure you can do it, if you set action plan for your goals. I wish you all the best in achieving these goals. I too need to remain focussed on my goals and go out and get them.

I know when I read this question that settings goals for oneself is so important. But unfortunately I don't have any concrete goals set for myself. The only thing I thought at the start of the year was that I have to be in a more responsible position in my job and that I shall learn as much as possible in my current job and use it to enhance my career.Of course I have now decided to chart out specific milestones that I need to achieve and follow a regimen to achieve those.Setting goals for oneself and working towards them is an absolute must and now after this discussion I shall start working towards setting them up.

Hi Nikhil, I am glad that after my discussion you are now inspired to set some goals for youself. I like to set myself goals as it gives me something to strive for and also I get a sense of accomplishement when I have reached this goal. I think when setting goals it is good to be specific and give a date that you want to achieve it by. I wish you all the best in achieving your new goals, all the best.

Hi Kiran,
I am pleased that you have achived your goals for this year, I bet it made you feel great. I know how hard it is when you have children but that makes it all worth while. I only had two goals to set this year and I have done it, I have paid off my overdraft to my bank account and most of all I have learnt to use the computer and done over 1000 post hehehe.
Love and Bless
Tamara

I achived my goal last year. This year my biggest goal is that I want to get married.
Because I am at that age that I should treat this thing seriouly. For this goal,
I began to arrange all my daily life well.In this way, I will have enough time and
a good spirit for this thing. Then I learned so many skills about how to look younger.:)shy to talk about this goal.so much

Interesting goals, laoli, especially the goal about skills on looking younger. This year I have also been focussing on ways of looking younger. I have purchased many good skincare products from Avon and they seem to be working really well, my skin feels firmer and fine lines dramatically reduced. I think since I am turning 30 this year I want to look younger. I am also not married, that is one of my goals too, however I think marriage will come when it happens, don't think that is something that can be planned for.

Actually, I haven't. I've had many things happen to me this year and although that isn't a good enough excuse or reason, it still has affected me. I plan on making the last half of the year worthwhile and successful though! My main goal? To replace my old laptop and lose some weight~!

SOmetimes life can being about unexpected speed bumps, hope the rest of your year is smooth running and you can achieve your goals of losing weight and gettting a new laptop. Maybe you could use your mylot earnings to save for your new laptop. Also to lose weight, try www.weightwatchers.com, worked wonders with me. Good luck on achieving your goals.
